Rhodes College invites applications for 50+ undergraduate minors and majors and graduate programs are available to choose from. It has 13 interdisciplinary programs and 18 different academic departments. Applications are invited for fall, summer, and spring semesters. The college boasts its selective admission policy and recorded an acceptance rate of 45% for the fall admissions. Applications can be made online through the Common Application Portal.

International applicants are given an option to submit SAT/ACT scores when applying for UG courses at Rhodes College. However, in case you choose not to submit the scores, you will be required to sit for interviews. PG applicants, on the other hand, are required to submit standardized test scores like GMAT or GRE for most courses. Both UG and PG applications are supported by LORs and personal essays, required for the assessment of the applications. Once you are accepted, Rhodes College processes US student visa application paperwork in May.

Rhodes College Admission Deadlines

The admission deadlines for international applicants looking forward to pursuing courses at Rhodes are:

Rhodes College International Student Admissions

The ‘Common application’ for the international and US applicants is the same. However, international applicants have to meet additional requirements to study in the US.

English Language Requirements for International Students

US Visa Process for International Students

Applicants who wish to study at Rhodes College must have a non-immigration visa, usually an F-1 or J-1 studnet visa. Applicants must have the following documents in order to apply for a visa.

A passport that is valid for 6 months from the date of applying for a visa.

The applicants have to apply through ‘Common Application’. The basic requirement for all the bachelor’s courses is the same.

Undergraduate students are required to complete the following tests:

- Rhodes College "superscores" the SAT and ACT scores, which means that the highest score earned by the applicant on each section regardless of which dates the tests were taken will be considered. However, the college will not superscore between the old and new SAT formats.
- Rhodes College does not evaluate the Writing score from either test.

Rhodes College Graduate Admissions

There are a handful of graduate courses at Rhodes College out of which only two are full-time degree programs. However, the specific requirements may vary for these courses while the basic requirements remain the same.

Application Portal: Students applying to the graduate programs offered at Rhodes College must do so through the Online Application portal available on the official website of the college.

Rhodes has the following timeline for releasing Admission Decisions, depending on the type of application.

Early Decision I: Notified after 2 weeks
Early Decision II: Notified after 2 weeks
Early Action: Notified by January 15
Regular Decision: Notified by March 15
Transfer (Spring and Fall): Notified in December and May

The university starts reviewing applications once all the documents have been received. The applicants must choose which decision plan is right for them. First-year students can choose from three application options; The Early Decision applicants are those who make a commitment to Rhodes as their first-choice institution and agree that, if admitted, they will enroll and withdraw all other applications.

Then, there is the Early Action plan where applicants submit their application early but are not making a binding commitment. It's great for students who want to apply early but aren't yet ready to make their final college choice. Lastly, Regular Decision is for applicants who find Rhodes a little later during senior year or want to wait for new transcripts or test scores to become available.
