Ph.D. (Computer Science and Engineering) From IIT Jammu, Jammu

A Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in Research in Engineering/ Technology along with a good academic record.

Or

Master’s degree in Science (with a good academic record) and a valid GATE score / UGC/CSIR-JRF/GPAT/ NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable forthe year of registration. Exemption under schemes as agreed by the IIT Council for students of NITs/IITs/IIITs/IISERs/IISc may be acceptable.

Or

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with an exceptional academic record and a valid GATE score in the eligible discipline.

Fees for External (off campus) / Part-time (off campus) category – Rs 1,15,100

NOTE:

Insurance fees under annual fees may increase approximately by 30% or more depending on actual costs as determined at the beginning of the even semester.

Excludes membership fee for specialized facilities on campus.

The semester fee includes Rs. 35,000/- of Residential Charges for “External (off campus)/Part-time (off campus)” students and Rs. 17,185/- for “Regular” students

Fee components other than tuition fees will increase annually at the rate of 7%.

Mess charges will be notified separately and shall be paid accordingly.

Thesis fees of Rs. 5000/- shall be charged at the time of submission of the thesis.

Eligibility:

The basic eligibility criteria required to apply for Ph.D program offered by IIT Jammu applicant shuld have an M.Sc. degree in Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics or B.Tech./M.Tech. /M.Sc.(Engg.) in Engineering disciplines with minimum first division or equivalent CGPA.

For Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences, Interested scholars should have a Master’s degree (with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA)) in the related subject/field.

Selection Criteria:

Candidates seeking admission in Humanities and Social Sciences subjects should have a valid score in UGC NET.

Admission to a Ph.D. program in Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics/HSS requires CSIR/UGC NET/GATE/DST INSPIRE/NBHM qualification. 

For Engineering discipline, GATE qualification is desirable for M.Tech. degree holders, and essential for B.Tech. degree holders with exceptional academic credentials.

Shortlisted candidates will be further assessed on the basis of the interview and the applicant’s research proposal.
