RGUKT, Nuzvid Admissions

RGUKT admits 1000 students every year for the integrated B.Tech course, out of which 85% of total available seats shall be reserved for ‘local candidates’ (Andhra Pradesh) and the remaining 15% of the seats are open to the students of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.

How to Apply?

Students who wish to apply to the integrated six year BTech program, may follow the given steps:

  • Apply for the RGUK CET exam
  • Appear for the OMR-based offline exam (Duration – 2 hours)
  • Result to be published (Scores converted to GPA)

  • Selected candidates called for counseling, along with required documents

RGUKT, Nuzvid Scholarships

RGUKT offers scholarships, sponsored by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh to all students, including ones belonging to reservation category & minority. The scholarship includes the course fees & hostel fees. The Govt. offers partial or full reimbursement to the eligible students. Non SC/ST candidates having annual parent income less than Rs. 1 Lac & SC/ST candidates with annual parent income below Rs. 2 Lac are eligible for reimbursement of fee, subject to fulfilling other conditions set by the Govt. Besides, a financial assistance scheme is available for students from pre-final & final years.

  • Classrooms: Smart digital classrooms with latest technology, to facilitate easy learning & understanding.
  • Laptop: Every student is provided with a laptop, without additional any costs from the first year.
  • Internet: Free Wi-Fi facility is provided throughout the campus.
  • Library: The campus also has a large library with a seating capacity of 3000 people. It has a vast collection of books in both digital & offline format. The library remains open for 24 hours.
  • Sports: Facilities for gym & indoor games are made available. The campus also has volleyball & basketball courts.
  • Hostel: As RGUKT is a residential university, opting for in-campus hostel is mandatory. Hostel facilities provided for both girls & boys with spacious rooms with double, triple or four beds & mattress, pillows, covers, sheets etc. are provided. Ques. What documents do the students need to carry for verification, if selected for the counseling at RGUKT?

Ans. Candidates are required to carry 3 sets of the following, along with original documents.

  • RGUKT CET statement of marks
  • RGUKT Rank Card 
  • Hall Ticket - 10th Class
  • Residence certificate 
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • EWS certificate, if applicable

Ques. Is education at RGUKT free of cost?

Ans. All candidates have to pay mandatory fees like Application fee, Registration fee & refundable caution fees. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category have a slightly lesser amount, but are no exception to paying the above mentioned fees. The student has to create a bank account into which the Govt. may transfer the scholarship amount, based on the category. The university then records this amount against the fees of the candidate. Any due amount remaining apart from deductions from the scholarship; must be paid by the candidate. RGUKT also assists the students with setting up the bank account initially. 

Ques. How is the B.Tech course curriculum at RGUKT?

Ans. The integrated B.Tech program consists of – 2 years Pre-University course (PUC) & 4 year Engineering course. The PUC consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Telugu and Information Technology. After the successful completion of PUC, the candidate can choose the desired BTech specialization out of the 7 available. The exams are conducted in Descriptive & Optional mode.

Ques. What are the criteria for Branch allocation at RGUKT?

Ans. The candidate is allotted the chosen branch based on merit, through an online process set up by RGUKT. Seats available for each branch are decided by the number of students passing the PUC course. The tentative numbers of seats under each branch are -

  • Chemical Engineering - 60 
  • Civil Engineering – 120 or 180 
  • Computer Science Engineering - 300 
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering - 300 
  • Mechanical Engineering - 180 
  • Metallurgical and Material Engineering - 60 

Ques. What are the internship opportunities at RGUKT?

Ans. Students at RGUKT are encouraged to undertake Summer internships or Long-term internships, linked to the student’s educational goals. In-house or company internships can be done by the student for a minimum period of 6 weeks. Students can qualify for the internship offered after passing the tests & interviews. Some internships offer stipend too.

Ques. Does the campus of RGUKT have facilities for Physically challenged students?

Ans. Yes, about 3% of the total admission seats are reserved for the Physically challenged students. The campus infrastructure provides a comfortable atmosphere for such students as well. The institution buildings have facilities such as – Lifts, ramps, walking aids, wheelchairs, aids for transportation from one building to another & specially designed toilets for physically handicapped students.
