A candidate should qualify for any one of the following educational qualifications*:
- Professional qualification – CA/ICWA/CS (with at least 50 percent aggregate marks) along with a Bachelor’s degree exam passed with minimum 55% marks or equivalent
- B Tech/BE /B. Pharm or any other four-year Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks or equivalent
- MBBS/B. Arch or any other five-year Bachelor’s degree with 55% marks or equivalent
- M. Tech/MBA/M.Com or any other Master’s degree program with 55% marks or equivalent
The Master’s degree or equivalent qualification/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification should be:
(a) from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or,
(b) recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India or,
(c) possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE.

IIM Nagpur ExPhD is a doctoral programme in Management for the working business executives who are aspiring to carry out Management research. IIM Nagpur ExPhD students are expected to complete the programme within 4 to 6 years. After the successful completion of IIM Nagpur ExPhD Program, the candidate will be awarded with the degree of ‘Doctorate of Philosophy’ (PhD). IIM Nagpur ExPhD fees include INR 2 Lakh for 1st year and INR 1.5 Lakh per year for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year & INR 1 Lakh per year during year 5 & onwards. IIM Nagpur ExPhD candidates must have a minimum of 10 years full-time work experience after graduation.

IIM Nagpur ExPhD Admission Criteria
The admission process at IIM Nagpur for the PhD Executive batch follows the following stages of selection procedures:
- Stage 1: Candidates are required to complete an in-depth application form within a specified application deadline. Based on the details furnished in the application, applicants are initially screened and shortlisted for further admission process
- Stage 2: Only those applicants who complete the application form and fulfill the eligibility criteria are considered to be selected for the interview round.This shortlist is released further and sent to all the applicants by email.
- Stage 3: Applicants shortlisted at Stage 2 can proceed to Stage 3 of the admission process. If a candidate has applied for 2 areas of specialization, he/ she needs to participate in an interview for every area and then a program-led panel interview.
- Stage 4: Candidates appearing for the Personal Interview Round are considered shortlisted for this stage. Final Admission offers are sent to the successful candidates by email.
