  • Candidates must have passed the two years Pre-University examinations of Pre-University Board of Karnataka with English and PCB as subjects. The candidate must also have passed all the subjects individually.

RGUHS, Bangalore BDS Admission Process

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science provides admissions to BDS courses on the basis of a candidate’s merit in national level entrance exam, i.e, NEET-UG. The candidate must score at least 50% (40% for SC/ST) in the competitive entrance exam in order to be eligible for BDS admissions.

  • After the entrance exam result declaration, the university prepares a merit list of candidates based on their performance in the exam.
  • Candidates shortlisted need to appear for counselling at the institute on the given date and time with the required documents.
  • If seats remain vacant, candidates whose names appear in the waiting list will be considered for admissions.
  • Final allotment of seats will be done after the successful payment of tuition fees.

  • NEET-UG is a national level medical entrance exam conducted particularly for admissions to the MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary, etc courses.
  • The entrance exam is conducted once a year in 11 languages across different regions of the country.
  • The exam consists of 180 questions of 720 marks and the duration of the examination is 3 hours.

Program Structure

  • Examinations: Examinations are conducted twice in a year at an interval of six months. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the university examinations both in theory and practical/clinical examinations separately.
  • Internal Assessment: IA comprises maintenance of records, participation in seminars and group discussions, clinical case study, proficiency in carrying out practical or clinical skill or participation in projects and assignments. A minimum of 3 assessments are conducted during each academic year and 10% weightage is assigned to IA.
  • Field Program: Candidates in the clinical year are required to attend the various dental camps/ field programmes as part of the curriculum.
  • Scholarships: Scholarships are available for SC, ST, PwD and OBC candidates who secured more than 75% marks in class 12th. Candidates can also apply for loan facilities.
