One of my friends studied at IIT Patna and this might be able to help you with your question. IIT Patna has better infrastructural facilities compared to IIT Jodhpur. He has been on the campus for almost 2 years and the facilities are really really good. Whereas IIT Jodhpur has recently shifted to their new campus, so it will take time for them to adjust or maintain the new setting. IIT Patna also has 10 more seats in CSE Department than IIT Jodhpur. According to 2020 NIRF Ranking, IIT Patna (26th rank) has performed far better than IIT Jodhpur (53rd Rank). Ques. Which is better, CSE from MNIT Jaipur or mechanical from IIT Jodhpur?
It depends on what it is that you want as both are different subjects. It depends on your preference. According to my cousin who studied CSE at MNIT, if you want a challenging job and you are aiming for PSUs, then mechanical engineering may be good. But the placements of mechanical even in top colleges like IITs will be lower than their CSE counterparts. If you like corporate sector private jobs in the IT or software sector, then CSE at MNIT Jaipur is a very good option. Campus placements will be much easier with packages far higher than mechanical. This does not mean that CSE is an easy subject. It can be difficult especially if you do not have a coding background in your class 11th and 12th. For that, you need to put extra effort during your graduation. Both institutions provide good opportunities to explore one’s interests and excel in it. IIT Bhubaneswar And IIT Jodhpur, both have a newly built campus. The Bhubaneswar campus is situated at the foothills of Barunei hills, outside the city of Bhubaneswar. The Jodhpur campus is situated nearly 24 Km away from the center of Jodhpur city on national highway 65. But both the campus provides a decent environment for studies away from the city’s restless life. IIT BBS has some good tech societies for CS/IT students to enhance and develop good coding and technical skills, comparing the tech and coding environment of both, IIT Bhubaneswar gets an edge over IIT Jodhpur. Both the IITs have good placement statistics and many big known companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit every year for placements. In the year 2019-2020, both IITs had 100% placement for Computer Science students. The two IITs have nearly the same placement package for CSE students. Talking about the hostel facilities, both the IITs has newly built hostels. LAN-Wifi facility is available in hostels as well as in academic sections. All of these IITs offer a wide global reach for the students of CSE in terms of foreign internships and jobs. In 2019, 3rd-year students of the CSE department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar have received internship offers in many reputed industries. A few of them are engaged in internships in R & D organizations and in many foreign Universities. For the 2013-17 batch of CSE in IIT Bhubaneswar, the highest package was 38 LPA which was offered to 3 students by Works Application, a Japanese company. CSE students of IIT Jodhpur received placement offers from international companies from countries like Japan, Indonesia, and many more. IIT Mandi completed the placement drive for 2019 with 82% of students successfully placed in the top companies. The institute also witnessed a 50% increase in the average salary offered to the students. A total of 45 companies took part in the 2019 placement drive with the CSE department getting 90% placement. The top recruiters were Wipro, Microsoft, Cortex, Amazon with an average salary of 13.5 LPA. Overall the placement in IIT Mandi is good for the CSE department and the number is slowly increasing every year. IIT Bhubaneswar witnessed a huge increase in their placement trends. In 2019, around 89 companies visited the campus and 90% of the students got the placements. The CSE department got the 100% placement with an average salary of 10-35 LPA. The top recruiters that participated were Google, Accenture, Amazon, Adobe, Dell, Capgemini, etc. In IIT Bhubaneswar, the CSE department placement from the previous years is good and the placement rate is slowly increasing at a gradual rate.
