Placement Experience:

We have a dedicated student-run placement committee that caters to the placements of the college. The placements, both for the summers as well as finals are considerably good as the number as well as the quality of companies getting on campus is increasing every year. The college offers 100% placement.

Remarks:

The admission process included the mandatory CAT exam post which we were shortlisted based on our percentiles and then the CAP round was conducted that included a personal interview and then based on the composite score, we were offered admission into the institute, I was offered admission in the first list itself and majorly, the percentile at which a general candidate was offered admission was 92 percentile.

Placement Experience:

Summer internship placements are offered for first-year students and final placements are provided for second-year students. The placement figures for the batch 2020-22 are 322 eligible students, 365 offers made, and 150+ companies visited. The number of PPOs offered was 53, the average CTC offered is 15.21 LPA and the highest CTC offered was 28.82 LPA. Almost 100% of the batch gets placed in the college. For summer internships 321 eligible students, 433 offers made and 125+ companies visited. The highest stipend offered for two months was 3.5 lacs and the average stipend offered is around 80K.

Remarks:

To get into any of the IIMs, the candidate should appear for Common Admission Test (CAT). Once the results of the entrance are announced each of the colleges updates its eligibility criteria on the college website. All of the old IIMs (BLACKI and Shillong) conduct their separate admission processes in which they interview the candidates who are eligible for the course and the list of final admission offers is released after considering all the criteria. Coming to new IIMs and some of the baby IIMs, conduct a common admission process. The candidate is interviewed for all the 9 IIMs together and the final admission offers are released by each of the IIMs separately. The details of the application form and application dates would be mentioned on the CAP website which for this year (2023) would be conducted by IIM Udaipur. The CAP interview process has its separate eligibility criteria and this would be released on the CAP website.

Ques. What are the pros and cons of joining IIM Kashipur?

● Top Answer By Chetna Pandey on 13 Jan 23

There are various pros and cons of joining IIM Kashipur: Pros: Located at a wonderful intersection of industry (300+ operational plants of companies like Parle, Titan, Mahindra, Dabur, and others), tourism (places like Corbett National Park, Nainital, Mussorie, and so on), and agriculture (sugar cane producers, agricultural university, and so on), there is a lot of scope for multidisciplinary learning and management education application. The new campus has 200+ acres of sprawling lush greenery as well as all relevant amenities. IIM Kashipur was the first to do so. Among the new IIMs with the highest number of international placements/summer internships and comparable, if not better, overall placements than all other new IIMs. IIM Kashipur is a place for fostering new ideas and feeling satisfied when they come to fruition. Cons: If you believe in a traditional legacy-driven culture, and the comfort of having a tremendously established alumni pool, then IIM Kashipur may be suitable for you but after 10 years or so.  If you like to contribute new ideas and believe in working towards them, or maybe in organizing events as formative batches to make them a legacy for your juniors to carry forward, then IIM Kashipur is the place for you....Read more

Ques. How is life at IIM Kashipur?

● Top Answer By Hardik Nagar on 13 Jan 23

It is true that life at an IIM is hectic, but this acceptance has shaped students in such a way that they are prepared to follow the most demanding of schedules. IIM Kashipur places a strong emphasis on students' overall development. The Institute offers a variety of opportunities. The Institute is located in one of the country's most densely industrialised regions, with over 180 industries having plants in and around the region. A completely student-driven campus, with a student body for everything from placements to functional work, academic to non-academic activities. Throughout the year, students are involved in a variety of activities, such as organising the flagship events such as Annual Fest - Agnitraya, management conclave, TEDx, and so on. One of the fascinating aspects of campus life is learning about insights that even students are sometimes unaware of. The language aspect is the most intriguing; the humorous slang will make you roar with laughter. Similarly, IIM Kashipur's campus language makes you laugh every time you read it. IIM Kashipur students make time for themselves and spend it on campus in their designated areas. The Night Canteen, which is run entirely by students, is one of the special corners. You can not only eat but also talk, gossip, and relax with your friends and groups....Read more

Ques. How is the classroom experience at IIM Kashipur?

● Top Answer By Mahima Bhalla on 13 Jan 23

Here is the classroom experience of one of the IIM Kashipur students who started in September and had online classes until October. The classes were being held in hybrid mode once a significant number of students had arrived on campus and things appeared to be improving. It was wonderful to return to the traditional teaching methods of the classroom during his offline classes and learn from our professors in person rather than only through screens. Comparing in-person sessions to online ones, the level of interaction and student participation was significantly higher. Their teachers would cold call them to find out how we interpreted the case's specifics, so everyone had to be prepared with case readings and analyses.  Because no one can see what you are doing on the screen in an online class, you can do some pending work, but in an offline classroom, you must be completely attentive and responsive to the questions posed by the teacher. This made their schedule even more difficult because other tasks needed to be completed at different times of the day. Overall, the offline MBA experience is unique and serves the true purpose of pursuing an MBA degree where the schedule is hectic and you need to manage everything at your fingertips by increasing your efficiency and working quickly with your teammates. He finds it to be an enthralling experience....Read more
