What students say about Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University]

Likes

  • I like the coding culture that is in my college is excellent.
  • Placement oppurtunity given by vit is very good where every student is guarenteed to get atleast one job in hand when leaving the campus.
  • The college has a very good placement record, so we go out with flying colors
  • If we came to studies part it is very good opportunity to utilize in vit.
  • The placement training and orientation is very good and helps us get jobs.

Dislike

  • The research carried out by teachers is on very boring topics, something that doesnt inspire me at least.
  • In the final semester, students usually head out of VIT for internships for their final projects.
  • Our college always tries to show off their college placement records. They only show the icing on the cake, but the reality is often disappointing.
  • Loan facilities are bad, with an interest rate of 10 percent. If you have a scholarship and a CGPA of more than 8, you will receive 10,000 rupees. It is offered to students from poor backgrounds. The loan facilities provided by VIT universities are bad.
  • There are hardly any extracurricular activities, but even if there is an event, the management is very poor and always fails to send the information to everyone.
  • Preference is given to 9-pointers, which is a really stupid rule, and the hostels arent really affordable as well.
  • Some hostel blocks should have room changes, which are the only negative comment about VIT college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I have an interest in software development. There are enough faculties for the students inside the campus. Most of the faculties are PHD qualified and some are pursuing research. The exams are almost 1 month apart from one another and the difficulty is medium.

Remarks:

You have to be a 12th-grade pass to take admitted to this college. You can find the application online on the VITEEE website and with a few simple steps you can register for this exam. If you can score a good score in this exam you can get a low fee category.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I am interested in computers and coding and have had a passion for computer science since 11th grade. The faculties are well-equipped to take classes for about 50 students on average. The faculty speak good English and are mostly cooperative unless you're unlucky and are assigned a strict professor. There are three exams; two CATS and the final, FAT. In a span of 4 months, you'll have to write these 3 exams along with quizzes and assignments.

Remarks:

We had to write VITEEE. It's slightly harder than JEE. Once results are in we will get out ranks and according to the preference of courses we have chosen, we will get the category in which we have been placed along with the course allotted to us. All required information can be found on VIT Vellore's website. Admission was smooth sailing.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course piqued my interest and also this course is in large demand. The faculty-student ratio is ok. The faculty here put in the effort to teach and are highly qualified. There are two internal exams and one Sem end exam. They are relatively easy to pass.

Remarks:

Applications can be found on their official website along with dates and fee structure is also available on their website. There are no reservations. There are no such improvements I want to see. Eligibility criteria for entrance are the same as that of JEE Mains.

Placement Experience:

The placements of mechanical branches are average. If you are taking CS or IT then it will be no problem. The college provides campus placements but for mech the average is low. So if you didn't get the job on campus you should try outside by own yourself.

Remarks:

You should give the VITEEE exam to get college admission. The application form you will get on the official website of the college. There is no reservation in the college. Application fees are 1200 rs. It may differ if you are NRI.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I want to go into the technical field. Faculty to student ratio is pretty good. Each class has about 70 students which are normal for a college. Qualifications are good and teachers teach well. Passing exams is heard.

Remarks:

I gave VITEEE exam for admission and got close to a 12k rank. I got admission in the first category on the Chennai campus. The exam details are released every year and you can find them online. The exam is based in cbse 12th syllabus.

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semester, students become eligible for placements. Several companies visit like Microsoft, amazon. A total of 10000 offers were made. The highest was 1cr and avg is 7lpa. Almost all get placed. Overall great university.

Remarks:

The admission process was via an examination known as the VITEEE. The eligibility is 60% in MPC grade 12. The application form is available in vit.ac.in.The exam is conducted in the month of April. The for costs around 1350 rs.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem, i think you are eligible for placements A lot of companies visit our campus major companies are Microsoft, Adobe, google, Amazon etc I think more than 60% of students are getting placed and some going for higher studies. I want to do higher studies.

Remarks:

Well, the eligibility for joining vit is normal as any other college above 75% marks in 12th, 10th. You can find viteee application on vit college's official site and follow the instructions. There are no reservations you are awarded on your performance in viteee exam only and nothing else. based on your rank in the entrance exam fee will vary. The admission process is simple you just have to follow instructions.

The average package of the college is 6.5lpa. The placement is increasing day by day in the college. The college is bringing companies into the college but the problem is college's academic curriculum is very lengthy.

Remarks:

For vit Bhopal you have to give the examination name vitee. Vitee is of 120 marks question, with no negative marking. for vit Bhopal you have to score at least 45+ marks, then after the result is declared in the form of rank then you can apply for admission.

Placement Experience:

We have 98% placements in our college for that they will take 8k from students. And our average package was around 8L LPA and we get some summer internship opportunities that can give 1L per month. So we need to prepare well to get placement.

Remarks:

First, they will take a entrance exam called viteee based on that they will give ranks and with that rank, they will divide into batches and conduct counseling in which they will choose the students based on their requirements.

Placement Experience:

From 2nd year onwards, there are a lot of emails coming to the mail for the purpose of internships in summer. After 3rd year, the placements season starts. I guess this year, almost 700 companies visited. Almost 12000 offers are given to students. The highest package is 1Cr and the lowest is about 4 lakh. 90 % of students will place In companies. My plans are to get a good job.

Remarks:

Based on the VITEEE rank, we got admission to vit. Eligibility is 60 per cent in intermediate. Every detail of the application process is there on vit official website( Vit.ac.in.). If the applicant is from Tamilnadu district topper, they will get free admission to VIT. Try to get less rank in VITEEE. The fee category will be less.
