Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a lot of interest in this course which is why I chose this course. the faculty to student ratio is very good you can get at least 3 faculty per student. The faculties here are highly qualified and they really know their stuff, while teaching they try to keep students engaged by relating the concepts to their practical application. There are 3 exams per semester (2- 50 marks each + 1(100 marks (final)), they can be sometimes hard or lengthy but if have got the concepts right you can easily score good marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I can confidently say that course curriculum and faculty members are well sought out. the curriculum is well designed to provide a balanced mix of theory and practical knowledge. I choose this course due to its application in various fields, like- Chips, Processors, Communication, 5G, transmission and keeping a window open to computer science fields also. The student to faculty ratio is little higher when compared to others colleges of this Tier, ie of 12-17 students per Faculty. Most of the Faculties have excellent qualification, with Ph.D. degrees from reputed universities all over India. They are well versed in the courses they teach and have drafted research papers as well. In terms of acadamics the college is very strict. there is exams/quiz every month and difficulty is moderate as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've Taken Electronica and communication Engineering keeping in mind the potential of its rise. Every faculty member is supposed to manage 70 students(at max, but on average each class has 50-55 students). Each professor holds a Ph.D., being a master's in his field. So you can expect in-depth knowledge from your professors. The exam pattern is as follows: 2internal written exams (CATs), followed by one lab exam (lab-FAT), ending the semester with a FAT exam. Along with quizzes and assignments going along Scoring a decent grade is easy as you are given multiple opportunities to maintain your score.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for B.Tech ECE because I am good at working with electronics. The faculty-student ratio will differ in every class, it is based on FFCS and students' choice of faculty. In VIT universities all faculties are Ph.D. Doctractes. and their teaching methods are good. There are 3 exams in each semester, CAT1, CAT2, and FAT. If you attend class regularly and do the work properly exams are very easy to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen ECE because I was interested in electronics and in VIT you can find students from all states students' strength was more in VIT and equally we have good strength in faculty too and they divide slots for each subject and faculty will be allocated according to slots so that they can cover all students. Most of our teachers have done specializations in their respective fields and they have good knowledge about the subject. Exams in VIT are a bit tough as they were asked application oriented you have to understand in depth about the concept and if u understand that you can definitely score well.

Ques. Is it worth leaving VIT IT for IIIT Guwahati ECE?

● Top Answer By Shalini Mitra on 06 May 21

If you think that you can work under technical giants later in years of study, then you should go for VIT. However, if you want to pursue your field of interest, and choose a likewise job scenario, then undoubtedly, you should enroll in IIIT Guwahati.  There are various differences between both the institutes for B.Tech ECE. Let’s walk through most of them: Approaches of VIT: VIT has a gigantic campus and is considered top-notch by students. You will most definitely enjoy your four years course period in VIT. VIT, other than that, has balanced boys: girls ratio. VIT is known to secure you a corporate job sooner than IIITG. This is seen at least in the current scheme. The following table shows the placement statistics of both institutions: Particulars IT at VIT ECE at IIITG Highest Salary 44 LPA 12 LPA Average Salary 6.39 LPA 8.1 LPA Total Job offers 3517 11 Approaches of IIITG: IIIT Guwahati is comparatively a very new college.  The placement record is not 100%. If you however have the necessary abilities, it is only then that you will get placed. There are unfortunately no mass recruiters here, unlike VIT. IIITG is renowned to motivate you to think and implement your theories in places not most people have thought of before. VIT clearly missed out on it. You will find that the questions are seldom asked in IIITG examinations. In a nutshell, you are likely to find not any repeated questions in any course throughout the B.Tech course, unlike of course VIT. IIITG tremendously focuses on the research sectors. VIT is a reputed institute that is known to get you a job in the placement. If you’re willing to enter the job sector soon, join VIT....Read more

Ques. ECE in VIT or ECE in IIIT Dharwad, which is better?

● Top Answer By Madhumanti Halder on 20 Apr 21

CSE in IIIT Dharwad is a better option to opt for. As of now, they don't have a permanent campus but they will have their campus soon. See, there are pros and cons of every college/institute. Somewhere you might find one thing and another might be equipped with another better thing. IIIT Dharwad also has some pros and cons.  Cons: Don't have their permanent campus as of now and the temporary campus is also not that good. You have to pick your peer group very wisely because the type of people you choose will become your peer group. Pro The institute in which you will be studying is of national importance which is controlled by MHRD. It has a good reputation just like any other IITs/NITs. You will get the mentorship of some experienced faculties as PhD is mandatory for all the faculties here. Dharwad is quite close to Bangalore so you can get good placement opportunities. The campus of IIIT Dharwad will be really amazing. The facilities like hostel and mess are better in comparison to any other college/institutes. If you are a sports lover, you will have many sports facilities like cricket, football, basketball etc. And most importantly, you will have the brand name of IIIT which really matters. Categories IIIT Dharwad VIT Course Fee 9.45 lakh 7.83 lakh Placement Percentage 70-80% 80% Highest CTC 15-20 LPA 24 LPA Average CTC 8 LPA 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, Deloitte, Intel, TCS, etc. Accenture, Capgemini, Infosys, IBM, etc. Talking about VIT, if you have a huge amount of money in your pocket, then you can opt for it. Although, they are not providing any good placements in their records. So, now you know about both the institutes very well, so choose wisely. All the best!...Read more

Ques. Which is better, ECE at VIT Vellore or metallurgy at PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Khushi Sharma on 04 May 21

My brother had the option of VIT for CSE on merit still he chose PEC metallurgy. There are various reasons as to why he took that decision: VIT is more expensive. Even if he had gone on merit, it would have cost him much more than PEC. Placements in core companies in ECE are negligible. You can sit for IT companies, but they pay less to ECE undergraduates than CSE counterparts. If you are a north Indian, culturally VIT might be different and might take time to adjust. Metallurgy is an undervalued branch in India; many of my seniors are pursuing MS from Germany, the United States, and France, and some have gone to IIMs and FMS with strong credentials. One of our seniors received a PPO of 15 lakhs, which is more than many students from elite branches. You can choose to upgrade, but you'll quickly realize that it's not that simple because the grading criteria favors those who are less deserving (no offense). Whether you accept it or not, those who claim that placement in metallurgy is poor (as it is in all branches except CS/IT) are correct. Placements in the core are hard to come by. Only 4000 people in GATE are from metallurgy, whereas there are 1.8 lakh from CSE and 2.1 lakh from Mechanical, implying that the probability of you getting a PSU is greater than that of a mechanical engineer. Categories ECE at VIT Vellore Metallurgy at PEC Chandigarh Course Fee 7.83 lakh 6.39 lakh Highest CTC 21 LPA 17.75 LPA Average CTC 9.3 LPA 7.5 LPA Recruiting Companies Deloitte, Bank of America, IBM, HCL, etc. ZS Associates, Amazon, JP Morgan, JSW Steels, etc. I personally believe VIT is overrated because a friend who did not even pass mains received 2000 AIR in VITEEE. In the CBSE 2016 boards, he scored 78 percent, which was below average....Read more

Ques. I did not get CSE in Vellore, can I prefer ECE in Vellore or CSE in Amrita based on my future career?

● Top Answer By Shrushti Purohit on 06 Jul 21

A few of my friends are pursuing CSE at Amrita University and here are some tips according to their experience - Considering many reviews that Amrita University is not up to the mark, it is suggested to drop one year and prepare well so that you can get a good seat at NIT at least. You can try BITSAT as well. But don’t spoil your future by going into any college, which you will regret throughout your life. Categories ECE at VIT CSE at Amrita University Course Fee 7.83 lakh 13.10 lakh Highest CTC 21 LPA 25 LPA Average CTC 5 LPA 4.8 LPA Recruiting Companies Infosys, Byju’s, Capgemini, Oracle, etc. Wipro, TCS, Dell, HCL, etc. However, make the right choice. It is suggested you opt for better colleges and drop out and prepare for the exams this year. So that there will be a chance of getting into a better college....Read more
