Ph.D. (Music) From LPU, Jalandhar

Eligibility For Indian Applicants:

• Pass with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grades prescribed by UGC in the master's degree* (2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree Programme#) or equivalent in the relevant subject + LPUNEST + Interview
• Candidate who has completed 1-year/2-semester master's degree* programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree is also eligible provided the candidate should have a minimum of 75% marks in 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
• Master degree (with Performing Art/ Music Vocal or Instrumental both Percussion and Non-Percussion) or equivalent

Eligibility for International Applicants:

(All Applicants shall fulfill the English Language Requirement (ELR)
a) English as a subject in 10th or higher qualification OR
b) Qualfying Exam in English Medium (need proof from student)
OR
c) IELTS / TOEFL / Cambridge English Certf.

• Candidate who has completed 1-year/2-semester master's degree* programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree is also eligible provided the candidate should have a minimum of 75% marks in 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed

Note:- For Part Time programme candidate must have minimum 2 years of teaching/ industry experience at the time of submitting application.

Research specialization available: Various Arts and Social Sciences allied to Ethnography of Various Genres, Styles and Forms of Music Vocal or instrumental, their roles and their relationships with other areas of life and culture such as Economy and Politics and Technology Advancements. Moreover, Ethnographic researches on various cultures, suggestions and experimentation for their revivals; Eminent Performers and their Contributions, Philosophical and Scientific Foundations of Musical and Theatrical Cultures, New Awareness and ever evolving creative instincts of mankind and their boons or banes.

Minimum to Maximum Applicable fee after scholarship (Per Semester)

• The fee varies from Rs.5000/-to 50000/-Per Semester

• Rs. 15000 - 45000 /- Per Semester
