Master of Computer Applications [MCA] From LPU, Jalandhar

LPU MCA admission 2024 is open now. Admission to MCA at LPU will be done through the LPUNEST entrance examination. The last date to apply for LPUNEST 2024 Phase-II is February 15, 2024. LPU LPUNEST 2024 Schedule 1 Exam will be held till February 05, 2024. Interested candidates can apply online for LPUNEST 2024 on the official website of LPU.

The important dates for LPUNEST 2024 (Type 2 Programmes) has been given below:

LPU MCA Course

Lovely Professional University offers MCA course in general mode and MCA (Hons.) in Data Science in tie-up with Transorg Analytics mode for students who have cleared their UG degrees. Students will be admitted based on their merit scores. Admission to the LPU MCA course is made in various phases based on the available seats and other factors. In addition, LPU also offers MCA in distance learning via Lovely Professional University Distance Education.

LPU MCA Eligibility Criteria

The students must have cleared either of the following UG courses:

MCA (Regular) & MCA (Hons.): BCA or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or B.Sc. (Information Technology) or any Graduation with Computer Science as a subject for three years or B.A. or B.Com. or B.Sc. (any Graduation) with (Mathematics as one of the subjects at Graduation or 10+2 level) or equivalent with an aggregate of 60% marks, subject to qualifying to LPUNEST.

MCA (Distance Education): Graduation from a recognized university.

Note: If the student doesn't have any background in computer science, they must attend bridge/additional courses in addition to the course subjects.

The details application process is given below:

Step 1: Signup

• Register on the LPU official admission portal with all the basic details required (Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender and Password). 
• After successful registration, you will get a mail on your registered email id regarding this.
• Login to LPU ADMIT using your previously created username and password.

Step 2: Apply for LPUNEST

LPUNEST is an online entrance test conducted to offer admission to programs you are interested in. Admission to MBA is done based on performance in LPUNEST and Interview. 

• Deposit the test fee:
• The application form and a soft copy of the LPUNEST Kit cost INR 1000 (for boys) and INR 500 (for girls).
• The cost of the application form and the printed LPUNEST kit is Rs.1500 (for boys) and INR 1000 (for girls).
• Fill out the test application form.

Step 3: Book the exam slot

• Book the time slot as per your preferred date, time, and venue to appear in the test.
• You can choose from the 200 cities in India where the test will be conducted.
• Download the examination hall ticket.
• Appear and qualify the exam.

Step 4: Admission

• Deposit initial payment of INR 10,000. After the successful realization of the payment:
  • A Unique Provisional Registration No. will be generated and sent to your registered Email ID.
• Upload the documents.
  • Recent Photograph
  • Matriculation Marksheet
  • Qualifying exam Certificate/ Marksheet. Also, if the applicant is claiming a scholarship on the basis of qualifications previous to eligibility qualification he/ she is required to submit the previous qualifications exam certificate/ marksheet also. In case the exam certificate/ marksheet is not available at the time of filling this application form (recently appeared), it may be submitted later also.
  • Address Proof
• Apply for residential / mess / transportation / parking facility as per the requirement.
• All the submitted documents are to be verified from the originals within the prescribed timelines.
• Deposit the balance fee within the timelines prescribed by the university.

LPU MCA Syllabus

This 3-year course is designed to be Seminar and Project driven. The students will be industry-ready with the required skills of the 21st century.

• The students must earn 20 credits per semester to successfully clear this course.
• Per subject carries 4 credits.
