What students say about Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology - [KIIT]

Likes

  • College have a aircraft for the students of aerospace, the best part was the lab has one MIG-27 engine
  • Class rooms , lab facilities, and sports facilities provided by the kiiy university is excellent
  • The north Indian food served here is delicious and Also, the south Indian Breakfast.
  • I like the education system of kalinga and every faculty try their best to teach us.
  • The best thing I like about our university is the ambience the infrastructure.
  • Affordable fee with best teacher to teach make you understand.everything.
  • The area is very beautiful and you'll get all the required things nearby.

Dislike

  • The course structure is pathetic because, in the final semesters, they offer optional subjects. However, you cannot choose anything on your own due to the absence of faculties to teach them.
  • This is a very expensive college, and people who study here have to pay from their pocket or take a loan.
  • Companies like Amazon, SAP, Bosch, and Deloitte come to campus, but dont just go with the names. The competition is fierce among 6000 students for around 200 jobs in these companies.
  • Scholarships are provided if you rank in the top, which is very difficult, and no scholarship is provided otherwise.
  • The mess food is terrible; there are no separate kitchens for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
  • Placement is the one thing for which the college is known; otherwise, the administration is very poor and the decision-making capacity of the higher authority is worst.

Placement Experience:

We were the covid batch that passed out in 2021 so the placements were really bad in comparison with the previous and future batches but skills in general placement are fine here. But still don't explain the amount of fee they are charging.

Remarks:

Admission process was very systematic and easy but they asked for around 1.5 lakhs as booking amount. Accept that there are limited number of seats among which they have reserved for females. Females are given more advantages there.

From the 6 semesters, you can opt for campusing. Big companies come like Tata. The highest package was maybe 720000. You have to get 69% minimum and good Companies take 80% - 95% students more. I m doing my contractors so I m having a very good life after all.

Remarks:

Eligibility was like you have to do 12th or diploma in a specific course. Yes, there was an entrance exam and the top 1000 is selected. And the application we can get them through their official site. No, the admission process was best and the way they treat is best.

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semesters, the students become eligible for the internship programs. The highest package that our college provides this year is about 60 lakhs and the average package is about 6 lakh. The percentage of students getting placed on a college campus only is about 60 percent. My plan after getting the degree is to enter the corporate sector.

Remarks:

Yes, there was an entrance exam for admission and if u score good marks u will get a scholarship some amount will be excluded from the tuition fees. The entrance exam is held after the completion of the board exam. And you can check the college website for the application process and all.

Placement Experience:

As per my knowledge Internship starts in the 6th semester. There are many prestigious companies which come to KIIT for job offers. As I am a CSE student the average package for CSE is about 10 to 12 lacs per annum. I may be wrong but as per the sources, last year's highest package for CSE was 52 lacs. I plan to get an internship with knowledge so that I can crack the in-campus placements with a good package.

Remarks:

You can find the application form on its official website. The examination is known as KITEEE. At my time I have given this exam online. After clearing you will receive the mail and joining letter if you qualified. Then you will proceed to further process.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is good but purely skill-based. It's obvious that if you don't work hard, you'll have to rely on mass recruiters. The students become eligible for campus placements from the 5-6th semester onwards, starting from the internships to the placements in the 7-8th semester. The highest package offered this year was 62 lakhs per annum with an average of 8.5 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed was around 90-95. My plan after getting a degree is to acquire a job with a minimum pay of 15-20 lakhs per annum. After having a few years of experience in the field, I may prepare for MBA.

Remarks:

I took the online admission test and the paper was not very difficult and the cutoff was also not too high. The test is free of cost and application dates can be found on the official site of University. This year, the exams are being held in offline mode.
