Karnatak University PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to satisfy the following eligibility criteria for admission into the PhD course:

  • Candidates must have passed at least a post-graduate degree from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% and 50% aggregate in the case of reserved categories (SC/ST/Physically Challenged).
  • Working employees such as librarian, teachers and others must have attained at least 50% aggregate in Masters Degree and 45% in the case of reserved categories.

Karnatak University PhD Placement

Karnatak University as such does not provide placements for the PhD candidates. However, as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, candidates undergoing doctorate programs in Karnatak University are eligible for monthly stipend as per the laid norms and conditions. Candidates get a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000 per month in the starting two years of the Doctorate program, Rs. 28,000 in the next three years. After completion of five years, if a candidate is unable to submit the thesis, then they get a monthly stipend of INR12000
