The Master of Public Health is a flexible degree, designed to give you a broad introduction to public health and to provide you with the skills and knowledge to define, critically assess and resolve public health issues within a community, whilst catering for your individual career goals.
Through innovative and applied education tools and expert industry-engaged academics, you’ll gain an understanding of contemporary public health issues, and learn practical techniques for analysing and evaluating public health problems in Australia and globally.
Whether you study online or on campus, this program provides real experiences in public health through core courses that are designed to give you the skills you need, and electives that suit your interests. Workplace-related learning and research projects can be readily incorporated for those who work in relevant public health jobs.
You'll usually study an MSc full-time over 12 months.
A Master of Science is awarded for the successful completion of 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation or research project.
Teaching is via a mix of lectures, seminars and practical sessions. We encourage active learning through discussion, problem-solving and group work.

Graduation	Students should have a 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in a medical, health or social sciences discipline. Students can also apply if they have successfully completed the fourth year of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course, or equivalent. Students must have 60% from section 1 universities, 62% from section 2 universities and 65% from section 3 universities as comparable to a 2.1 This can be in any of the following qualifications: Bachelor Degree Bachelor Pass or General degree in Arts, Science or Commerce Bachelor's Special or Honours degree Bachelor’s degree in professional subjects
TOEFL iBT	90 overall (with a minimum of 19 in listening, 20 in reading, 22 in speaking, and 20 in writing).
PTE	62 overall (with a minimum of 56 in all sub-skills).
IELTS	7.0 overall (with at least 7.0 in writing and 5.5 in all other subskills)

Studying at Newcastle

Course Curriculum:

The course curriculum is very well structured in the sentence that it really provides cast theoretical and practical knowledge to a greater level. Since it is a multidisciplinary program so any student irrespective of not having the health related background can apply to this program

my university is very known for medical school and that really intrigued me to apply to it, although I have got offer letters from other universities ranking better than this. I was very attracted to the student focus culture and beautiful city it was offering.
