Remarks :
The admission process had been fairly easy, it started off with an interview with Prof. Kirti Pendayal. I received a provisional admission letter after the interview which was followed by an entrance exam (JSAT). After clearing the entrance exam I had to accept the admission offer and complete some requirements such as vaccination certificate, board exam certificate etc. In order to be eligible to be selected for the course I had to pass the JSAT examination and the interview round, however, it would have been more clear if the JSAT results could also be declared.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the Course Ba Hons. Finance & Entrepreneurship because I was really fascinated with learning about entrepreneurship as well as learning about finance for a startup. This course aligned with my interest and career goals of becoming an entrepreneur and therefore I chose this course. The faculty is highly experienced and qualified from some of the best universities in the world. The teaching methods of the professors is more practical in nature than being theoritical which helps us understand the real world application of what we learn in the class. During the semester we have mid terms quizzes and projects as well as an end term exam with the final presentation of the project, we also have assignments in the form of essays and reports during the semester which helps us gain internal marks. The exams are of moderate difficulty and can be passed if attention is paid in the class and notes are taken properly.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities offered by my school are good but can be improved to be at par with those offered by other schools such as the law school, however, there are some good internships in the finance field which are offered. I applied for an external internship at IndiGo since there were not many opportunities available in the field of digital marketing. There are various social internships as well which are offered and credits can be available for them.
Placement Experience :
Students studying in the final semester are eligible for campus placements, since I am in the second year of my course I plan on doing a job for a few years or a bridge course while I take my GMAT to go abroad for further studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Considering the O.P. Jindal is a private university the fee structure is similar to that of other similar universities and costs us a total of around 7 lakhs per annum including hostel and tuition fees. There is scholarship assistance available based on criteria such as parent or guardian salary as well as board percentage.
Campus Life :
Life on campus is busy and lively, there is something or the other that constantly keeps me engaged. We have annual fests like BISWAMIL and MAGNUS which are the two main fests in Jindal, there are special celebrations for each festival, from Diwali and Holi to Halloween each festival is respected and celebrated with high energy. There are constant movie and match screenings in the various auditoriums, and guest lectures with some of the most experienced industry experts. The Global Library has almost all the books and journals for our courses and various places to study, the classrooms are clean and organized with ACs and Projectors. We have facilities like a gym, cricket field, basketball court, badminton court, tennis court, football field, Table Tennis, Pool & Snooker Table. There are many clubs and societies such as the entrepreneurship club, economics club, fashion society, dance society, and music society as well as organizing committees for events and student council positions.
