Remarks :
The admission to this course in VNIT, Nagpur is strictly based on the merit ranks obtained in the JEE-MAINS, PAPER 1, and later through the JOSAA AND CSAB rounds. All the candidates excluding PwD candidates are eligible for the course. The application form, fees, dates and all the other details can be checked at the website of JEE MAIN-NTA, or the Joint Apex board. The cut-offs for OBC reservation candidates are somewhat lower than the General category candidates, but still, they don't make much difference. The technicalities in conducting exams and counselling can be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This was the best course I was getting at my rank, and also, the materials are the future, so ultimately, I chose this stream. The faculties are decent, almost everyone is a PhD professor. The teaching methods are also decent, except in a few of the subjects. Each semester is 4 months long in time, and at the end of 2nd month of the semester, we have a mid-semester exam. The difficulty of exams was average to tough. One needs to study regularly.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are good, and the students are eligible from the 5th-6th semester. Internships were provided in IITs, IT companies and various other sectors. There were both research and pre-job internships offered, to all the departments.
Placement Experience :
The placements of our college are satisfactory. The median and average package offered is 10LPA. The students become eligible for the campus placements from 7th semester onwards. There were 250+ companies visited and few companies were BPCL, BEL , IOCL, GAIL, GOLDMANN SACS, ORACLE , etc. The highest package offered was 35LPA. 80-90% students get placed . I wish to pursue masters or get into research PSUs , after completing my degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The per semester tuition fee for a student is 82,000 INR, and the fees increase by a few amount every 2-3 years. However, the studies are feasible, and there are also many scholarship opportunities available. The student families whose income is below 5Lpa and 1Lpa have a fee refund policy only over tution fees. No fee exclusion is there in the hostel charges. Other government and private scholarships are also available.
Campus Life :
The AAROHI is the cultural fest of VNIT, Nagpur, and is the largest cultural association in CENTRAL INDIA. AXIS is the technical fest of VNIT Nagpur and also is the largest one conducted in CENTRAL INDIA. They are carried out mostly in October. The Library consists of all kinds of books and materials, and is one of the bests in academia plus they are made available at our convenience.. The classrooms consist of a smart board, projectors and a screen for the virtual learning experience. The sports facilities are awesome too, we have a big cricket, football ground, and indoor sports complex for badminton and table tennis. The clubs and societies are very active. HallaBOL, Octaves, team velocity, and IV labs are some of the clubs in the institute.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms for first year are double seated, and are quite large and sufficient for accomodation. From second year onwards, you might get single rooms, and there are single rooms for third and final years. There are all the basic facilities available in the room including LAN connection, with awesome speed. The mess food quality and taste is fine, but it might get saturated with time. The registration process for hostels is done at the time of physical reporting in the institute.
