Remarks :

I took the JEE(Advanced) Exam in 2021, and for this, the eligibility criteria was to qualify for the JEE(Main) Examination. The application form, fees, and dates can be found on the official website for JEE(Main) and Advanced. The Reservations are also available as per govt. rules as it is a govt. examination. I was under the general quota, so was not able to avail any benefits from this reservation. The admission process was a bit of time and the whole counselling and admitting to college took almost 1 month, I think this can be reduced by the government.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have heard about the circuital branches and their benefits during the college internships and placement processes. The students from circuital branches have more opportunities for many software companies than the non-circuital branches. That's the reason I have opted for Electrical Engineering Faculty Student ratio is 1:135 The faculty are well-educated professors and their qualifications are mainly B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D. etc. The teaching method is not so interesting but their depth of knowledge is incomparable. Every semester(4 months duration) we have two examinations (mid-term and end-term). The difficulty varies for different branches. Electrical Engineering is one of the toughest exams but almost all students manage to pass in every subject

Internships Opportunities :

Various companies come to IIT Kharagpur and provide internship opportunities for students in their pre-final year. Most companies come for Software roles (SDE, Data, Quant) such as Microsoft, Google, Quadeye, Visa, MasterCard, Samsung etc. And provide a stipend in the range of (?50 k - ?lacs per month) Companies for Product Management, Supply Chain and Consulting are BCG, McKinsey, ITC, P&G etc. And provide stipends in the range of (?50 k- 1.5 lacs per month) And also Core companies for Electrical and Mechanical Engineers such as Bajaj, JLR, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Analog Devices etc. And provide a stipend in the range of (?40 k - 1lac per month)

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for internships in the pre-final year and for placements in their final year. The placement rate at IIT Kharagpur is about 90%. About 200 companies visit every year making around 2200 offers for B.tech, M.tech and PhD students. The highest package till now is 2.2 Crores per annum and the average package is approx. ?15 lacs per annum I am willing to join a core company in Electrical Engineering and aim for a good company in the college placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure for general students Course fee ( Academics, Tution fees etc.) 1.1 lacs per semester Hostel and Mess fees - 30k per semester But for those whose parents have an annual income of less than 5 lacs the course fee is 33 k and hostel and mess fees are the same For Sc/St students and those whose parents have annual income less than 1 lacs, the course fee is zero and hostel and mess fees are the same Also, there are various scholarships for students based on their merit like good grades and annual income of their parents less than 6 lacs, one of them is Merit-cum-means scholarship. There are on-campus opportunities for internships and placement. Last month, I got an internship offer as a Summer Intern at Bajaj Auto Ltd, Pune.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is one of the best parts of the whole college. IIT Kharagpur is known for its bonding, culture etc. We have Kshitij (Annual Tech Fest) in January, Spring Fest (Annual Cultural Fest) in January and Shaurya (Annual Sports Fest) in October every year. All the books that are required by the students are available in the library and they can be issued by students at any time for a maximum of 60 days for b.tech students. Classrooms are fully furnished with ACs, Fans, lights and Charging Points for every bench. There are immense opportunities for various sports such as Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Athletics, Weightlifting, Squash and can participate in Interhall, Inter IIT competitions, and sports fest of other colleges as well. There are almost every society and clubs for every interest such as finance, art, quiz, dramatics, dance, entrepreneurship, robotics, Fests etc. which are almost/completely run and managed by the students.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are compulsory for every student. The hostels called Halls in IIT Kharagpur are known for their culture and bonding. The rooms vary from hall to hall, some have only triple sharing rooms and some have only single sharing rooms. Some halls have a combination of single, double, and triple sharing rooms. Mainly 1st, and 2nd year students get triple sharing rooms, and 3rd and 4th year students get double and single sharing rooms respectively. The food quality is also very good and we have a student hall council who manage and keeps an eye over the things to maintain the quality of everything. All these halls are located inside the campus.

The Good college and very good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite good on the campus GKCIET especially trains and encourages the students to sit for internships and placements. A student is eligible to sit for the internships at the beginning of the third and placements from the beginning of the third and placements from beginning of the final year .. a student can manage to get a PPO after completing the internship in the 3 rd which is also encouraged by the student. The other criteria regarding placements and intership are quite well-defined in the GKCIET

Placement Experience:

Yeah from 3rd year only, all the companies come to our college for the placement opportunity. The average placement percentage is around 70-80% in our college. There is also a team of members specially looking into the placement section. The highest package of our college is 51 LPA now
