Uttaranchal University Review.

Remarks :

The admission process was smooth. Eligibility of the course - 12th with 60% or above Application form, Application fees and application dates are available on their official website - https://www.uudoon.in Reservation benefits are also available on the official website. The admission process is easy and smooth. I would not like to suggest any changes in the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because Biotechnology is an emerging field and it will be in demand in the future as many changes are occurring in our world and conserving our planet is a need of every hour. Faculty: Student ratio was 1:5. The faculty was highly qualified with Phd degree and the teaching method was good. Term exams were held twice a year and difficulty level was moderate.

Placement Experience :

Students of last year i.e. last two semesters become eligible for campus placements. There are several companies like amazon, Patanjali etc which visit and there are several offers made to students. The highest package is 12 lakh in our course and the average package is 3 lakh. 85% of students get placement.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee hike was not too much, there was hardly a difference of 1000-2000. The cost to study is 240000. I didn't apply for any scholarship, financial assistance or job on campus. There is a Merit scholarship available for students who have 70% or above, a Uttarakhand State domicile scholarship and there are other scholarships as well if a student would like to avail.

Campus Life :

The annual fest is conducted in the month of April-June every year. The library is one of the best parts of the University and there are many books and journals available for the students. Classrooms are well equipped with chairs, tables, fans, board and more. Sports activities are held on a regular basis, sports fest is held every year on the campus where many sports are included. There are clubs like Biotechnology club, Biogenrika club, Environment club, Sports club, Cultural club.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels were very good and hygienic. Facilities like a bed, chair, table, almirah, and mattress were provided in the room. The meals served were very good too and the menu was different for every day for breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The registration process of the hostel is available on their official website and affordability is in range.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am doing B.Sc (Mathematics) from HNBGU, because Mathematics was my main subject in Intermediate School. There are good faculties for almost all subjects. They are all updated about their subject. All professors have done a brilliant job in their subject and they also support students in innovations. After every 6 months we have semester exams, 2 or 3 months before semester exams we have Sessional exams and practical exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc Community Science, previously known as B.Sc Home Science, is a 4-year undergraduate program. The course includes 1 year of specialization in a chosen department. I chose this program due to my interest in Food Science and Nutrition. 5 different departments are focusing on community development and rural societies. The departments cover areas like food science, textile and apparel designing, extension education, consumer sciences and management, and human development and family studies. The program has over 15 professors and more than 250 students. Each professor holds a Ph.D. and has over 10 years of teaching experience. Assessments include 2 pre-final exams and 1 final exam in each semester. Pre-finals are mid-term exams, and the final exam is an end-term exam, both of average difficulty. Despite competent professors, there is a shortage of faculty in the program.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are overseen by a placement cell in the university. This cell provides placement to students in their final years. While there is a placement cell in the university, it is not run properly and needs many reforms. Companies do visit but it depends on the college. Banks and many NGOs visit the university. The highest package is approximately 9 lakhs. My plan after completing my degree is to look for a job in the food sector, mainly in FSSAI.
