The average life at IITD

Remarks :

The admission process was through Jee Advanced. For my department (CS5) the cutoff for the general category was 185 Rank and for other cutoffs, you can refer to the JOSAA website. Personally, I got a 155 Rank, so was able to avail CS5 rank under the general category. There were no prerequisites for eligibility of course except securing 75% in board exams in the 12th class. You can find the application form, fees, and dates on the JOSAA website. If you belong to the EWS/OBC/SC/ST/Girls category you can avail of reservation benefits also. An improvement that I want to see in the admission process is that the website should work smoothly, currently, it just crashes every time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course Curriculum is actually good and faculty members are highly experienced. I chose this course because I was passionate about computers and have always been fascinated by them. Here, the faculty-to-student ratio is roughly around 100. Faculties almost always have PhD in their domain with most of them having written some research papers. The term exams were on time and it was not very difficult to pass.

Placement Experience :

Placements here are very great. The so-called 'Quant' companies also come here. Because of this, you hear news like "4 crore salary offered to IITian".Other than the average salary and placement percentage is also pretty good.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are a lot of scholarships available like the Aditya Birla Scholarship (for the top 20 people on IITD), and a lot of financial scholarships are also available for students whose parental income is less than 8 lacs or 5 lacs. The fees generally hike 10% every year.

Campus Life :

The life on campus is excellent. You can do anything, literally anything. The grand fest Rendezvous is hosted every year which is Asia's 2nd largest cultural fest, and various artists from around the world come to perform. The library is huge. We have all the books available in the library.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilities are not that great. The rooms are very very small, and kind of old. The mess food is average. Other than that there is everything, you will find different kinds of fields and courts for different sports in every hostel. You will find dance and music arts room.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is AI/ML so all over ipu you will see similar curriculum for similar courses which is good . Faculty members are really good but a bit strict because it is a new college in btech . Mid sem and end sem are same for all ipu students so it doesn't depend on the clg .
