Remarks :
You have to appear for JEE Main to get into an NIT/IIIT/GFTI. Students of the Unreserved category must score at least 75% and the reserved category must score 65% in their Intermediate board examinations. The JEE Main exam is conducted twice a year probably in the months of January and April The application form and complete guidelines are released every year on the official website of NTA(JEE Main) Reservation benefits are as prescribed by the government of India. You can also appear for JEE in the drop years. The top 2.5 Lakh students in the exam are eligible to appear for JEE Advance to get into IITs. The admission process needs no improvement as it is already robust and smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Production and Industrial Engineering under the department of mechanical engineering in NIT Kurukshetra because it was the best possible branch and college I could get at my rank. Apart from this I always had intrest in mechanical engineering. Placements also are quite promising. The students in every branch are divided into two sections of 84 students each and then are further divided into 4 subsections of 21 students each. Every section has 1 or 2 faculties for each subject and every subsection has its own tutorial teacher
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are available from 5 th semester onwards. Companies for the role of SDE, DA, BA and other roles come to hire students as interns. Many companies also provide PPOs to eligible students. DRDO, DMSRDE and other PSUs also provide internships here.
Placement Experience :
Placements are great here. Amidst of recession placements are going well. All the branches had more than 75% placements in the previous year of 2022-23. Companies start placement procedures from 7th semesters onwards. Many students have grabbed PPOs also in American Express, Microsoft etc. There are no specific numbers for the companies visited and offers made but however many of the night IT firms, PSUs and startups came to visit the campus placements. If you work quite hard and have good academies along with requisite skill you can easily grab a 12-15 LPA package. My plan is to get a decent placement and enter in to corporate world.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
A fee hike is done for the new batches every year up to acceptable limits. The fee remains the same as charged in the first year for the upcoming years for a particular batch. Financial assistance is provided on the basis of family income as per following: UPTO 1LPA: 100% tuition fee waiver 1-5 LPA:66% tuition fee waiver Above 5LPA No tuition fee waiver For SC ST student 100% tuition fee waiver irrespective of family income Various scholarships are provided by institutes, government, alumni associations and other NGOs
Campus Life :
NIT Kurukshetra has a 300-acre lush green campus. The infrastructure is quite old. All the lecture halls, labs and examination halls are equipped with air conditioners. The institute has its own sports complex and swimming pool with all the amenities. There are various technical societies, cultural clubs and crews like dance and drama crews, singing clubs, and social activity clubs to make your college life fun. The college has its own student racing team called SAE NIT Kurukshetra. There are two cultural fests Confluence and Utkarsh and one technical fest Techspardha. An entrepreneurship summit is also conducted every year. Plenty of books are available in libraries and also issued by book banks for the complete semester at no charge.
