Remarks :
The admission will be done through an Online Merit Based System. Online Application forms for admission will be available from the official website of Midnapore College website www.midnaporecollege.ac.in. Online Application Cost Rs. 200/- per subject to be paid through Online Payment Mode. The merit list for admission will be based on marks obtained in the best five subjects of WBCHSE and in the case of other Boards, the candidate must have passed 5(five) recognized subjects including the qualifying exam. Minimum 2. Seats for NRI &2 Seats For National Quota will be reserved in each subject. Admission for SC/ST/OBC/PWD Students will be strictly made as per Govt. Rules.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Midnapore College is one of the best colleges in West Bengal with a rating of A+ by NAAC and once it was the center of learning English in the whole district of undivided Midnapore during and after the British regime. I chose the BA. ENGLISH H. course here just because of the faculty and the ring mentoring, imparting lessons, teaching language construction, and further clarification on texts taught in the usual classes. There are a total of 9 professors in the English Dept. including the guest lecturers and everyone does their job perfectly. Not only do they teach the language to the students but also motivating, mentoring and counseling are also part of their affection towards the students. The ratio of faculty and students is near about 1:10 Everyone in the faculty is enough qualified, 3 lecturers have done their Ph.D. while others have done their M.A. and qualified for the NET Exam. And their teaching methods are just amazing, it feels like the family.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for campus placements from the start of their final year. Accenture Wipro, TCS, and some other companies have visited here and made offers. As of now, I am not aware of the highest package ever made in the college's placement history but average package figures run around 200,000 rupees. The percentage of students getting placements is near about 52. I am planning to pursue an MBA course after getting the degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee hikes happen usually every semester about 15-20 percent depending on the subjects and their cost to study including the fees of registration, autonomy, admission, game sports, tution, library, academic development, establishment, and exams. It varies on the subject. There is no job on the campus along with a stipend. The names of the Scholarships and Financial Assistance available here are- Post Matric Scholarship, Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship, Chief Minister Relief Fund, etc.
Campus Life :
There are several annual fests done here in Midnapore College Such as College Foundation Day, Teachers'Day, Freshers, and Farewell Programs. More than 12000 books are available in Midnapore College Library including the subject material and other entertaining books. Different Advanced JOURNAL of Humanities and Social Sciences, the journal includes all the disciplines of science subjects are available here. Audiovisual-based Advanced Smart Classrooms are available here. There is not that much influence on sports on the campus. Groups like the Student Council, NSS, and NCC are available here.
