IIT Kanpur : Overly underrated

Remarks :

I took Jee mains and advanced. It is the most common engineering entrance exam and if you want to enter my college's mechanical branch then you must have an AIR of less than 3200 as per the previous year's cutoff and if you have an obc reservation then may be around 8k. I think the admission process should remain the same for IITs.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course due to its placement record as it was the best I was getting and as Mechanical is an old branch it's a quite researched and safe field. Faculty faculty-student ratio is good like 1:17.4 . The grading is quite tough and the academic is rigorous. IITK is considered academically the most challenging IIT of all.

Internships Opportunities :

All the companies you can think of come to IIT K to hive internship opportunities. just recently the winter season is over and some seniors got a 36 lakh sum for just those 2 months so it's quite fascinating. You have to do projects under prof and self and club for a good resume and must have a decent CPI.

Placement Experience :

You get placed in your 4th year and the highest package was off campus around 4 cr and on campus was 2.4 cr and the average is 18 LPA around. If you sit for placement with a decent prep you are most likely to get placed. And yup I too am hoping for placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is quite good and affordable if you are under 6 LPA family income person and have no F grades in the previous semester you are given a full fee waiver for tuition fee yup you have minimum CPI criteria but that is nominal. Many scholarships are provided like MCM, inspire, and full fee waivers to SC, and ST students.

Campus Life :

As it is an old IIT the campus life is awesome and the campus is huge. The city outside is not so fun but inside the campus is lush green and beautiful. All clubs on campus are active and if you have some different passion you can just start your own group of interest and scale it to society and then club.

Hostel Facilities :

Rooms in the first year are good and they are quite spacious and we are provided with one table one chair, 24/7 electricity, wifi, water, the mess is ok-ish as you would get bored of food no matter how good it is. The registration process is smooth and will be done by you on your first day with guidance from staff and seniors.

Placement Experience:

Placement is also at the best level. Many companies and startups come to the campus to provide internships. Students also get a 1cr plus package in some companies. But for that you have to work smartly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because my family wants me to become an engineer. So I chose electrical engineering student because I have an idea in my mind to do something big in this field. Here the faculties are very good and for electrical engineering, it is awesome. All the teachers are good. So if you want to know about students ratio then you'll see girls are very low. If you ask me about mine then in my batch only 24 girls are there out of 150 boys. Here most of the faculties are from IITs or NITs and PhD holders. if you'll ask me to rate the course and faculty I'll give you 8 /10. Here exams are held semester vice. And CTS are also there

Placement Experience:

The student is eligible from 3rd year for campus placement. Most of the student prepare for exams like GATE, SSC, and IAS or some of them open their startup. Placements are not that good. But some of the students with good skills get a decent package.

Placement to college is average but there are many students who have not been placed in BBAU. From 3 years students become eligible for campus placement. My plan after getting the degree is to do M.tech.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech CS is a very learning course. In this course, we learn about device infrastructure and its working module. The faculties of IMSEC are mainly IIT passed out. Term exams will be conducted after every one and a half months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I have an interest in electrical things so I decided to opt for it. The faculty of the electrical engineering branch is well qualified there are lots of professors who graduated from IITs if we talk about the student ratio it is equal to a ratio of 1:84. Every two months minor exam is held and It is quite difficult to pass if you are not prepared from the start. After two minor exams, there is a final exam held called majors in which the full syllabus of the semester is asked.
