Review of the University of Jammu for PG Courses

HS
4.4 /5

Remarks :

First of all, the University of Jammu conducts a JUET exam every year in May/June for the PG Courses. We have to apply for that entrance test and appear in the exam. If we qualified the exam then the admission for the M.Com course will be done. The eligibility of the course is to have completed B.Com/B.Com Hons. for the course. In the case of another stream with mathematics having 60% or more in the relevant stream. There will be reservations for the sports quota, NCC/NSS college-level certificate holders with points benefits in merit, and defense personnel children.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I would like to choose this course for the accomplishment of higher studies in the commerce stream. The valid faculty: student ratio is 1:30. The qualification of the faculty Professor was Ph.D. with NET/SET and their teaching methodology is demonstrative as well as e-teaching with the help of a smart board through seminars as well. The exam for the Master's degree is conducted twice a day and the level of the exam is moderate to difficult. If someone studies with dedication he/she can easily get 65+ % in the exams.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship with Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Limited in Jammu as supervisor in 2019. The role is to supervise the workers to complete work on time. I learned more from this job after that I moved on and have placement in Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. limited as Manager Scale in 2020.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The average cost for studying M.Com from the University of Jammu is: University fees: 10,000 approx. per year. Hostel charges: 3,500 per year. Financial assistance is provided to SC, ST, and OBC students. To claim financial assistance one must have to ensure that he/she has a family income certificate worth less than Rs. 2 lakh per annum having private or self-employed work of the parents.

Campus Life :

Annual fest based on Alumni Meet in March, Display your talent in October, etc. celebrated on the campus. Around 84 thousand books are available in the Dhanvantari library of the University of Jammu. Around 10,000 books related to the commerce stream for both PG and UG courses. In each classroom, there are 4 fans, and some classes and auditoriums of the University have full air conditioners. Bench for sitting is to be comfortable for the PG students and smart classes with the smart board in each classroom.

Hostel Facilities :

Basic facilities provided in the hostel are 1 room sharing with 1 student having double bed and almirah. The quality of meals in a hostel is good at just 2000 per month only with quite good food for the students. Registration for the hostel facility is required to take hostel facility through the hostel warden with University permission. The cost of a hostel facility is affordable at just Rs.3,500 per annum. In case a student had to take a rented room outside it would cost around Rs. 4,500 per month.
