Remarks :
For admission in IIIT-Hyderabad, there are various modes of admission like JEE, UGEE, SPEC, DASA, and Olympiad. Studied at Jawahar NAvodaya VIdayalaya(JNV) from class 6 to 12. You are currently enrolled in the 4th semester of an integrated, six-year, 12th+B.Tech program (after the 10th class). For more details and updates on the application form and other details, you can visit this website: https://ugadmissions.iiit.ac.in/spec2023 Applicants need to appear for a computer-based one-hour entrance test called the SPEC exam. The exam centres are given on the website you can check them out from there. Shortlisted candidates from this exam will have to clear an interview to gain admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Electronics and Communication because I was a bit into Digital systems. The average number of students in the ECE branch is about 60 to 90. The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good in this institution, 200+ faculties for around 2000 students in the institute(including all degrees). Qualification of almost every faculty is PhD from a renowned institute and the teaching method is modern and hybrid (projectors and green board). For practicals, the labs are well organized. As the institute focuses more on research, practical knowledge is the preference in IIIT-H. Exams are quite frequent, generally 2 quizzes, one mid-semester exam, and one end-semester exam, but they can be restructured by the faculty based on the course need, and projects can also be included. The difficulty of exams can not be generalized but some courses are good enough to score but some are quite difficult.
Placement Experience :
For a single degree, students in 4th year are eligible for campus placements, and dual degree students can sit in their 5th year. The campus placements are 100% till now and the package details can be found on the official website of the college. The average package can vary around 15 to 20 LPA and the highest package is more than 50 LPA(excluding the off-campus data). I will suggest seeing the data from the official website of the college Companies visited are Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Texas Instruments, and more than 30 bigger companies (or even more). I would like to sit for placements and get my dream job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee hike policy is a 5% increment per semester (as far as I know) and the cost to study is about a total 15 lakhs for the whole four years. There is no scholarship provided by the institute but financial assistance is provided, SBI loan is accessible for anyone who wants to apply for it but the Alumni fund is also available for limited students with certain requirements. Campus placements are quite good so the average salary could be around 19lpa.
Campus Life :
The annual three-day fest is 'Felicity' in February/March with lots of fun and enthusiasm. There is no specific tech fest but the research-based projects exhibition is organised every year. The library of not so big but you can find books that you need. Journals are also available Classrooms are modern with a mic system, projectors, green board, tables, desks, internet connectivity and wi-fi. Sports facilities are not so impressive but the sports culture is rapidly growing every year. You can find people actively participating in football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, pool, chess, carrom, table tennis, and cricket. Every semester there is Inter-house and Inter-batch tournaments are organized. Extracurricular activities are musical and dance events and many more. The Festival celebration is one of the best parts of this institute Clubs are Art Society, Debate Society, Dance and Music clubs and many more and events by them are quite good actually.
