Review of my university

Remarks :

To get admission to CCSHAU you have to take hau entrance exam. You can register for this on the hau official website hau.ac.in The cut-off varies between 68 to 75 out of 100. Here you can get reservation benefits according to your category or ex-serviceman If you are not from Haryana than you can be admitted here through the ICAR exam. Eligibility for this course is 12 in the science stream either Medical or medical with a minimum of 60 per cent marks. The admission process is easy. Register forms are released generally in the month of May and exams are conducted in June. You will get results in July month

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because the chances of getting a job are higher than simple bsc. In this degree, we have 9 major subjects. In the first 6 semesters, we have theory as well as practical classes. The 7th and 8th semester is just like the internship program. Faculty members are very good and supportive

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Earlier CCSHAU was one of the lowest fee agricultural universities in India. This year there is a hike in fee structure and internship payment is reduced. Students are provided scholarships in every semester based on the semester exam results. PMS scholarship is also provided to the students

Campus Life :

Campus Life is very enjoyable. Although the annual fest is not organised in our University different functions like freshers' party, poster making competition, different sports functions and NSS NCC activities are organised regularly which energises us for studying. There are lots of books available in the library

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are not so good. The hostel infrastructure is not good. We are not provided with a laundry facility, not AC or cooler in summer nor heater in winter. We are not even allowed to use gas for cooking. Hostel food is average not so good. But the hostel fee is affordable

Placement Experience:

In the 7th and 8th semesters, students are eligible for campus placement. HDFC bank visited for the placement. Students with above a 7.5 GPA can apply for such placement as the number of vacancies is less as well. After completing my graduation I want to pursue agribusiness management.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for it, because of my keen interest in agriculture as I am from an agricultural family. Apart from this, I see numerous enterprise opportunities particularly associated with horticulture field. Students enrolled in the university are allotted an advisor, and normally for every 8 students, there is an advisor who apart from their studies helps them in their overall development. Most of the faculty members hold PhD degrees in their respective fields while some of them have worked on research projects and have international degrees as well. Talking about the exams, exams are always in accordance with the schedule and are held timely but sometimes they take a bit longer to declare the results, While exams are not that tough and one can easily pass them one needs to be consistent in their studies for better results.
