Seshasayee Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli is the first Grant in Aid Polytechnic to be established in Tamilnadu in the post-independent era. This bioneering technical institutions occupy a unique position in the field of technical education in our country.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Dr. Vijayakumar is at present the principal in charge of Sesshasayee Institute of Technology Trichy, a Government aided autonomous polytechnic institution. He joined as an SIT lecturer in the department of Mechanical in the year 2000 after serving at JJ Engg College as a lecturer and was elevated to senior lecturer in the year 2000.
Placement Experience :
Placement activities as per scheduled in 2017, from 4th September 2017 to 6th September in career guidance programme- Global Talent Track at a colleague campus in SIT Trichy. another one 2018, on 23rd March 2018 in Enhancing Employability Skills Programmed to Students - One day workshop in the college campus.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tamilnadu Government awards scholarships to the citizens of Tamilnadu Also, various state government award scholarships to minority students. There are various scholarship schemes for handicapped and disabled students.
Campus Life :
The institute has 1 well-equipped library with 16600 books and 23 journals. The institute has 1 hostel facility with a capacity of 120 students boys hostel and a 120-bed girls hostel. The rules and regulations to be followed are given below. They are intended to regular the library resources and they will reviewed periodically to meet the changing needs.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel campus spreads over an area 3.55 Hectaes.The principal is the warden of the hostel: he his assisted by the Drputy garden and residential tours. Thiru S. Balakrishnan. Thiru M. Ganesh Kumar and R. Rajan. Accommodation available for 120 students. The mess changes are based on the dividing system. Only vegetarian diet is provided.
