HITK-kolkata

Remarks :

the admission process was quite smooth I took admitted to the WBJEE exam and the form can be filled through the official website and one needs to do PCM in class 12 with get a good score of aggregate 60% in PCM.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course done is Bachelor in technology in Electronics and Communication engineering as this course provides a exposure to both IT domian and working with electronics and semiconductor devices and the faculty was quite friendly. there was about 60-65 students per faculty and the faculty were quite literate and have most were P.hd and some of them where M.tech from good colleges so its a good college overall. Exams and semester were on time .Faculty were friendly and helped through out the college. Exams were of good level and one easily sail through it if studied well.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship companies were not much but one can easily get an internship off-campus using college assistance. There were few IT companies that provided internships and the average stipend was around 10-15k.

Placement Experience :

the students were eligible for placements from the 7th sem and quite a large number of companies visit the colleges with an average package of around 4-5 LPA and their internship is provided which one can do from the 3rd year onwards and get admissions. Most of the companies are from the IT sector and around 80-85% of students are getting placed.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Course fees were not much high compared to other colleges and one can easily afford it although there were some hikes apart from that being in a metropolitan city the cost of living was above average. There was financial assistance for people from West Bengal domicile and there was no scholarship as of such.

Campus Life :

there were annual and tech fests but were not held regularly. The library was one of the best with the best quality of books and ambiance. Amenities in the classroom included all the basic features if not advanced. There were playgrounds for sports and all other co-curricular activities. International clubs like ROtaracts had their presence and other clubs were there like NSS, resonance .tHey all were quite active.

After the 6th-semester final exams companies start visiting the college for placement and our college has had the highest placement package record for quite a long period of time. There are some basic eligibility criteria for qualifying for seating for the placement.

Placement Experience:

For placements, the eligibility is from the 5th semester, as companies come with various exams. The official drive begins in our 7th sem, which lasts for a year. We have seen Infosys, Cognizant, PWC, EY, Accenture, IBM, and such companies that help us get placed. Their packages average out at around 5LPA. We have seen the highest package from Maventic so far, with 7 LPA, and have around 90 % placed students. After my degree, I intend to join PwC full-time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose electronics and communication engineering because I have an interest in semiconductor devices and also an interest in theory part. The faculty in our is very helpful and some of our factories are very good knowledge in core subjects. Some of the faculty members hold a Ph.D. degree. Exams were held on time and it was not that difficult to pass the exam. If you prepare 1 month before the semester then you will pass the semester.
