Abhay Maurya's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Hamirpur | collegedunia.com

Overall it's a nice experience to be a part of this college,NIT HAMIRPUR

Remarks :

One has to clear JEE mains exam and then participate in Josaa counseling to get into this college. Like all NITs, our college also has reservations for admissions based on Category(Gen, Obc, Sc/St) quota, female quota, and Home state quota.

Course Curriculum Overview :

1st year is common for all branches, so you rarely get the opportunity to get exposed to professors of your respective departments. The faculty is Okayish, some are great and some are not even close to them. Ultimately, it's upon you. Students have to understand and also study themselves.

Placement Experience :

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Bloomberg, Maruti Suzuki, and TCS keep on visiting the campus for recruitment. 1 Cr+ is the highest package offered to a student of this college. I'm looking forward to clearing the GATE exam as I want to go for higher studies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

College fees for each semester are about 77k and hostel fees are around 60k per year. Fee remissions are available based on your submitted income certificate. I.e 100% tuition fee remission: If your family income is less than 1 lakh per annum or you belong to SC/ST community. 2/3rd tuition fee remission: If your family income is between 1 lakh to 5 lahks per annum.

Campus Life :

The campus size and campus facilities are great. Hillfair is the name of the annual cultural fest of this college, which is worth its hype about it. Nimbus is the name of the annual technical fest of NIT Hamirpur, which is also decent. Library and reading room facilities are great in this college. There are too many active clubs and societies in the college, covering all types of matters of interest, and overall clubs and societies are great places to make friends and make interactions. Sports facilities are really good at NIT Hamirpur, there is a newly built Student Activity Centre on the campus which is modern looking and has all types of sports facilities inside it.

Placement Experience:

The placements percentage of our institute varies from one branch to other. Computer science and Electronics and communication engineering have good average packages while other branches have many wonderful packages but lower average packages. But having skill in you can't affect to be in any branch. You can simply get a high package if you have the potential to fulfill the needs of the company.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because my father, faculty or student ratio was just ok at the beginning but with time it got better. The faculty was just awesome, everyone had their own methods of teaching. There were two Mid-term sessionals every semester followed by assessments on the basis of assignments, presentations or vivas and then the final semester exams. The level of exams was moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As Computer Science and engineering are popular these days. I chose this course because I love problem-solving. I enjoy the technical site so computer science fits best me. The student-teacher ratio is 10:1 to ensure every student gets to follow the activity properly and remain attentive throughout. Faculty members are very experienced in their fields and look for the overall development of students in their subjects. All the faculty members are well-qualified, and all are punctual on time. The course curriculum focuses both on the theoretical and practical knowledge of students. The courses eventually change over time. Term exams are not so tough to pass. Regular attendees can easily pass the examination with a good pointer.

Generally, colleges offer good placements to students. If any student doesn't want to take placement from the campus he can take off-campus placement. Recently a student of NIT Hamirpur was offered a package of 1.3 crores per annum
