Ishleen Kaur's Review On Chandigarh College Of Engineering And Technology - [CCET], Chandigarh | collegedunia.com

What it is like to do engineering in CCET?

Remarks :

You can take admission in CCET for your bachelor's via JEE Mains and have scored at least 75% in your 12th boards (CBSE/ICSE). They have 4 braches of engineering here: Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, Mechanical and Civil. You can go for CSE if you have a rank of around 50-60k and ECE if your rank is upto 80k.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The teachers here mostly have their Master's and Phds in their field of expertise. The only con here is that the number of opportunities here are limited. CCET (Degree Wing) is affiliated to Panjab University so it follows the same curriculum as UIET, PU. The term exams were on time and were of average difficulty. You can score well if enough effort is put into it.

Placement Experience :

The placements are maximum for the CSE and ECE students. Around 50-60 companies visit the campus for placements. The placement process starts in the 7th Semester. I am a CSE student so I will share my experience accordingly. The companies first organize an Aptitude test followed by Technical rounds followed by personal interviews. For CSE, the placement percentage is 80-90% with an average pack of 6 LPA. It is comparatively easy for computer engineers to land a job in CCET with an average package.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

CCET (Degree Wing) is one of the most affordable engineering colleges. The cost of Engineering here is around 30-40k per semester. If you perform extraordinarily well in your academics, you get a scholarship. The first three toppers get 100% fees reimbursed and the next three get 50% of their fee reimbursed.

Campus Life :

There are many options for extracurricular activities here. There are a number of clubs to join here. Some of the major clubs are: The Dramatics Club- Draamebaaz, The photography Club- Achintyam, The Debate Club- Apostle of Speech, The Bhangra Club- Punjabi by Nature, The Western Dance Club- The Beatles, The Music Club- 7 Notes and also an Art Club and various Technical Clubs like ACM, etc. Your college life can be fun if you are a part of some of these clubs as you get a lot exposure via these. They participate in various fests and perform at various events giving you once in a lifetime opportunities.

7th-semester students start having their tests and interviews for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, arcesium, JP Morgan, Airbus, Uber, Flipkart, etc. visit the campus. The highest package this time was 86 lakhs CTC to six students and the average package is 14 lakhs. Mainly they offer coding and finance-related profiles. More or less everyone who sits in the placements gets placed, the percentage is above 90. I also want to get a good placement in an MNC.

Placement Experience:

Placements depend on the reputation and performance of the university, the quality of education and training provided, and the demand for the particular field of study. If a college does not offer campus placements, students can still explore various job opportunities through job portals, job fairs, or by contacting companies directly. They can also opt for higher studies or entrepreneurship. Eligibility: Generally, students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th or 6th semester onwards, depending on the university's policies. The companies that visit a college depend on the reputation and performance of the college and the demand for the particular field of study. Some of the top companies that visit colleges for placements include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, etc. The number of offers made by these companies varies from college to college. The highest and average packages offered to students during campus placements varies based on performance.

Yes, it's pretty good. I am mentioning a few companies which came for the 2022 batch listed below: DE SHAW GOOGLE INDIA MICROSOFT DELOITTE AMAZON FLIPKART but it all depends on your effort because studies are not so up to date and attendance criteria (75%).so you have to be pro in coding if u want to be in these top-notch tier companies.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from the 6th semester. More than 700 companies visit for placement. Cisco, Google, TCS, Wipro, Servicenow, Mykaarma, Amazon, and many more companies. Each company provides different types of offers. Offers start from 3.5 lakhs to 60 lakhs. It depends on the student's skill and knowledge which offer they take. Companies come for Software development, networking, front-end development, and so on. The highest package of last year is rs 63 lakh and the average placement is of 5 lakhs. More than 90 percent of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree are to get placed in a reputed company with the best package.
