Aman Clement Aranha's Review On Ramaiah Institute Of Technology - [RIT], Bangalore | collegedunia.com

Nice college but no campus life

Remarks :

I got into the college through the entrance examination called Kcet which is organised by the government of Karnataka and got me my seat at ramaiah institute of Technology. It's basically a government seat. The cutoff for my branch in Ramaiah Institute was somewhere near 3000

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is actually outdated, to be Frank, they are indeed adding new subjects like artificial intelligence to the curriculum but then the teachers are inefficient in teaching the subjects as the subjects are new in the industry there is a lack of experience. There's a good faculty-to-student ratio in the college for my course and there's no actual shortage of experienced faculties for the conventional subjects. The term exams are conducted every month and are easy to score with a week of concentrated preparation. Most of the teachers are phD holders and are highly qualified in teaching conventional subjects but they do not have a specialization for new subjects like machine learning and artificial intelligence

Placement Experience :

We must accept that campus placements are very very good in the college. Multinational companies like Intel, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Apple inc etc recruit students from the campus. The average package is around 13 lpa and the highest package went up to 41lacks CTC for a student this year. I'm sure that before a serious student graduates from my course, we/ she will be at least having 2 offer letters with him or her for sure. The student becomes eligible for placement from the 6th semester.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure for the students for government seats is very economical and also there are many opportunities from the college management itself to provide scholarships or financial assistance to the students in need. To name a few programs, the Alumni Association scholarship scheme. Sc/st scholarship. Etc

Campus Life :

There's literally no campus Life existent in the college. This may be because I got into the college during the COVID times but then even after the COVID pandemic eased out, the college management is still reluctant to provide opportunities and funds to organise any sort of feast in the college. There are many social groups and clubs in the college. Few are technical and a few are non-technical to name a few. Technical clubs are GDSC and CodeRIT, to name a few non-technical clubs including DECA Charanga and Theatrix. There are very limited sports facilities in the college and the college ground is at a walkable distance from the college not inside the campus

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are comparatively economical and are also good enough to stay. We also have a college mess inside the campus itself. The food over there is adjustable. Most of the time the food is very bad and just cannot be consumed but still it's manageable. And also mess saves a lot of time for the students and helps us reach classes on time. The locality in which the hostel is located is in mathikere itself it's inside the campus. The menu for the mess is also very limited.

I chose this course for the sake of Electronics. The teachers are good and knowledgeable where most of them have done their PhDs and the students' strength is around 60 per batch and later lateral entry students will also join.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As this course has not much different from computer science and engineering and it has additional courses for design. The faculty is well-educated and most of the professors are with PhD degrees. The exams are conducted every week and the difficulty level is moderate

From the 5th-semester companies start to hire for summer internships, and by end of the 7th, the placement process will almost be over. Samsung, Bosch, and Fidelity these are the companies visited so far for internships, and many more companies are yet to come. The highest package that was recorded last year was 52LPA and the Average for our department is around 7LPA. Mostly all companies that visit our college hire for SDE roles. The placement percentage for our branch is 90%. I am also willing to get placed in good company by the end of my course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to be an engineer that's why I chose this course. Student 21 and teachers 12 it's the ratio. Teachers are very well qualified but lack the experience that's why teachers join our college to get some experience The teaching is good and smart classes are available. Sem exams are conducted after every 4 months and 3 internals are conducted. Its somewhat difficult to pass the exams, If you study a bit you can pass them.
