Saurav Singh's Review On Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Jalandhar | collegedunia.com

Honest review

Remarks :

To get admission to NIT Jalandhar's course I had to go through jossa counseling and then csab counseling. I got the application form from nta official website, and after going through several rounds of Jossa JEE got a seat in NIT Jalandhar textile technology branch. Due to reservation, I was able to get admission even though I had a low percentile in JEE mains. The admission process is a bit strict as if a student makes a mistake he is removed from jossa counseling rounds.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I first got admission to the textile technology branch but as I wanted to experience electrical branches I applied for branch change after the completion of the first year, where I got promoted to the ICE branch. The faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:20 at NIT Jalandhar though faculty is unable to pay attention to every student but they entertain their every doubt. Every faculty is highly qualified to educate students as they are PhDs. Every semester we attempt 2 minors and 1 major exam, at intervals of a month to precious.

Internships Opportunities :

In an internship, they teach students about the work culture and help them gain experience in their respective fields. I have no idea about what projects the mentors give and the outcomes to clarify the task.

Placement Experience :

The students of 3rd year in the 7th semester and above are eligible for campus placement. The companies which visit Institute are Google, Amazon, reliance, Microsoft, Paytm, etc. these companies mostly offer an average offer of 1200000. The highest package received is 1.2 cr. And the min package received is about 2.5 lack per annum. About 90 percent of students get placed. I plan to pursue higher studies after completing of B.Tech.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Though the placements of students have increased in the previous few years but their numbers are decreasing. The Institute should bring more companies to hire students. The condition of the internship is not so great in the Institute, but it is expected to increase in the upcoming years.

Campus Life :

Mains on major cultural fest "Utkansh" And one major technical fest "technity" Is celebrated on large scale. Classrooms are newly built with high-tech facilities and even security measures are taken into consideration during building them. Annual sports day of 2 days is celebrated every year and many sports like running, long jump, etc. are performed. The Institute has many clubs like TCA for cultural events, TTA for technical events, criminals and dance club, spice club for students of ICE, various sports clubs, etc..

Hostel Facilities :

The room consists of a bed, a table, a chair, and a wooden compartment for storing clothes, each floor has 2 bathrooms and 2 water containers for students to drink. The mess is situated near the hostel and the quality of food is medium. For getting a room in the hostel we need to submit a college registration certificate with a deposit of 10000 Rs as caution money which we get after we leave the hostel.
