SOHAN RAUL's Review On Gandhi Institute For Technology - [GIFT], Bhubaneswar | collegedunia.com

Must known facts before enrolling in GIFT, Bhubaneswar

Remarks :

If you have passed 12th with a minimum of 50% and gave an engineering entrance exam like Jee or OJee, then you are eligible for this course. Admissions mostly occur during June. You can apply directly at the college or you will find their admission zones in many districts (you can search for your district). You can reserve your seat for a minimum of 5000-10000/- rs. But at the time of admission, you have to submit 30% of the course fee (negotiable). Yes, you can apply for admission in the online medium. But it is advisable to take admission in offline mode otherwise you might miss some perks and benefits. And if someone told you to give their reference and you will get benefits, don't listen to them.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Today's era is the era of machines. I had a strong determination to take computer science as my engineering course. It gives you a larger scope for your further carrier. Also, get a sound salary and lock in a bright future. The faculty-student ratio is good. Unlike other institutes, it has spacious classrooms with fewer students. So that teachers can guide them properly. Faculties are well-qualified, skilled, and trained. Notes given by them are easy, understandable, and enough for exam preparation. The teaching method is also to the point and elaborates according to difficulty. Exam occurs twice a year i.e. one exam per semester. Also, there are class tests, internals, and assignments. To pass the exam, you have to complete all these sections like practicals, assignments, internal, and of the course semester. The exam is not that difficult if you prepare from the study notes.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are the most important part of engineering which boost your resume. It is offered by Internshala and other companies. Also, you can apply for MNC companies. Mainly you can apply for website designing, robotics, game designing, content writing, and many more. There are paid as well as free internships. Some internship pay and some internship ask you for money. So always go through the terms and conditions before enrolling. Specifically, I was enrolled in website design where my work is to deal with real website designing, publishing, and bug fixing.

Placement Experience :

After 6th semester means after 3rd year, you are eligible for campus placement unless you are bad in your academics. Many local companies visited Colleges and select candidates according to their needs. TCS, Wipro, cognizant, and tech Mahindra are some companies that visited the college and the average salaries then give is 2.2 lakh per annum. The highest package as per my knowledge is 3.7 lakh for a computer science student in Wipro. But if you are good in your skills then apply for off-campus and will get the higher package. Apply for companies like Amazon, Google, and Netflix if you are skilled. Yes, above 80% of students get engaged in companies. I am thinking of doing MBA after Btech. Because there is a huge demand for engineering entrepreneurs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Unlike other colleges, there are not any hidden charges. Fees hike is rare unless there is any inflation. Study cost is worth. Because what you get in your fees is completely worth it. You will find many scholarships like state and central government all scholarship is applicable to you. Including this, Industries like SAIL and some other releases their scholarship. You will get notified by the faculty members who are specially appointed to aware students about scholarship information. College claims that they will help you to get study loans but I recommend you to manage yourself for study loans if you need them. Come to jobs, colleges provide campus joining where companies like TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. recruit students. But my suggestion is, you always look for off-campus opportunities and don't worry about how to get to know about opportunities. You will automatically get to know if you have a strong friend zone.

Campus Life :

A good thing about the college is, you will chill at every Saturday night musical event. Besides it, there is also tech-fest which is conducted in January or December times. They observed other festivals too. Don't worry about books because you will get every book from the library itself and you can keep them with you until the exam. After an exam, you will return them and issue new books for the next semester. classrooms are spacious, clean, and well-facilitated. Projectors, green boards, and smart boards in some classes. All classes are air-conditioned. Students can enjoy extra curriculum activity like piano, guitar, music, dance, and many more. You can join various groups meant for extracurricular activity. We the students managed many projects like websites, robots, and science projects. "Learn for cause" is a edtech website made and managed by me and my friends.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have intersected in computer, coding, and technology. Its curriculum is well good and the faculty members are so cooperative. Here faculty ratio to the students is approx 1: 20 which is good according to other private colleges. Here most every faculty is Ph.D. qualified and their teaching method is so practical. Exams are done with due time as after 1 - 1.5 months after the semester starts they take the midterm exam and after 1.5-2 months take the end sem exam. Exams are medium-level.
