Remarks :
I cracked the entrance exam of DU for admission to the masters. One can get admission on a merit basis (if the student had an honours degree during a bachelor's in that particular subject. DU release various lists along with the college name in which they've been selected. After that, the whole admission process was online and really convenient. The administration of Hansraj College is very efficient. Application forms and any other relevant information are available on the college website and through that, you can submit fees also.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was moderate, not too easy and not too difficult. As all the classes occurred in the department of chemistry, the ratio of faculty: and students was fair enough. Exams were taken timely along with internal examination. The faculty was quite dedicated.
Internships Opportunities :
Usually, students prefer to take internship opportunities under their professors for research purposes. These are unpaid internships which is done solely for the purpose of experience. Although some research projects from CSIR include a stipend of 31k.
Placement Experience :
Various private companies are offered in placement. Sometimes they can be subjective to the specialisation. Usually, there's no specific eligibility for 1st year or 2nd-year students. Companies can offer around 4lakh-5lakh packages per year on average. Usually, students prefer to get placements outside the campus.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As compared to private colleges or any engineering college, where a master's can be studied, Hansraj College has very reasonable fees which are approximately 19k per year. Also, the college provides scholarships who couldn't afford the education, for this you've to fill out a form which is available on the site, and then you've to clear the interview process. There's a placement cell which circulates various job/internship opportunities.
Campus Life :
I've been a student during covid period, so there weren't any fests. But the people on the campus were quite friendly. The exposure you get is really good for you. Classrooms are occupied with AC and desks are somewhat uncomfortable.
