Remarks :
Admission through JEE Mains. Eligibility is 75% in Class 12th. All information can be found on the college website and the JEE Mains official website. Admission processes sometimes take a long time, around 4 to 5 weeks.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Civil Engineering in order to open my doors to government sector jobs. Faculty to students ratio is decent. Most, if not all, teachers have a Ph.D. from a respected college. Term exams are of moderate difficulty, but would still need a good understanding of the course.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are average at Harcourt Butler Technical University. As far as civil engineering is concerned, there are various students doing internships in various government sectors such as PWD and Development authorities, etc.
Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for placements starting from the 6th semester. The placement percentage from the college is around 85-90%. The highest package offered was around 54 lakhs, offered to 4 or 5 students. Civil students usually all go for government jobs here.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is comparable to NITs. Fees hike is minimal over the years. The total cost of studying plus living over the course of 4 years in this college comes to around 8 lakh rupees. That is with both Academic as well as Hostel fees.
Campus Life :
The Library here is extensive, with loads of books, from age-old research in various languages to modern course books. The classrooms and lecture rooms are all equipped with smartboards. There are various sports facilities in the campus area.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are decent. Food quality is certainly above average. Hostels are provided on first come first serve basis. Many rent houses / rooms are also available near the college. The locality also has a huge market for all needs.
