Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College: pros and cons

Remarks :

The eligibility at my time was the marks of the class 12th board exam. The cut-off lied between 96-94% for General category students. The application was on Du.ac.in a common registration for all colleges under Delhi University. Then you have to match your score in the CUET exam percentile with the cutoff. Almost all colleges of DU have reservations for all backward classes, minorities, physically challenged people, sports quota(at least State), Economically weaker sections

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen this course because I am a finance enthusiast. It provides practical knowledge for real-world challenges over and above the regular B.com programme. But if you are getting a college with good placement history with so many companies coming for placement frequently, you should opt for B.com(p) in that college. All faculties are doctorates. Most of the faculties have good knowledge as well as impart their knowledge in the best manner. But some of the faculties suck the blood in all the ways, such as by not having good knowledge-sharing capabilities as well as do not cooperate with internal assessments and attendance. There are around 3000 students, and 40 faculties with each faculty having a good knowledge to teach multiple subjects. Exams are conducted two times a year,i.e. on time in one semester. Exams are easy to pass, you just have a basic knowledge of the concept asked and must have good handwriting.

Internships Opportunities :

*Some of the companies that offer internship are: Marquee equity Natwest Extramarks Etc. *Projects Marketing Campus ambassador Networking Content writing HR Posters making Web Designing It helps the students learn a lot about corporate culture, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

Placement Experience :

There are so many companies that start getting students placed from starting of the 3rd year itself. Some of the names are Delloite (6-7 lpa) -10 vacancies Natwest(3-5 lpa) --15 vacancies Icici prudential (3 lpa)-5-10 vacancies The growth of the future depends on performance at the workplace and further courses did. I think only around 10% of the students get placed at the maximum package of 7 lpa.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fees of the college are around 7000 to 10,000. The exam fees are different which are 1000 per semester. This is so many reasonable fees in return for the value student gets. You can get as many scholarships by becoming a part of societies from 1st year itself. A student should continue to indulge in internships during their whole college life to substantially raise their chances to get selected for on-campus/off-campus placements. There is a proper placement cell with a gamut of placement of various startups and companies coming there at regular intervals.

Campus Life :

There are around 2 fests per month giving an opportunity for all kinds of arts and cultural activities. These are conducted by respective societies by getting funding from college fest funds and sponsorships. There is good exposure for Football players, basketball, chess, cricket, volleyball, badminton, and tennis. There is an annual sports meet of inter-college competitions. There are a lot of clubs within the colleges which a student will easily get aware of from their faculties and seniors. I have never spent a single penny on any academic book in my college life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bcom Honours, it's quite an interesting course where you focus on different areas but in most semesters you have accounts as a core subject. Faculty is kinda nice and good where you can talk with lectures about problems and inquiry Lecturers helps with problem if you face in college, though the admin office works very slowly and you often see students in the window of the admin office because there was a mistake

Placement cell works very hard in our college to get placement for students with good internships and placement packages. there are so many companies visiting, the average package would be more than 4 lakhs rupees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I was pursuing a professional course, so I can manage my studies easily. My college has an average faculty-student ratio. Teaching methods are also good in the college. Term exams were every six months and they were not that difficult to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested in it. The faculty is very good and gives their best time to time and they not only cover course but help in life advises also. The faculty is supportive. There is only one exam semester exam which is easy to pass and there is some internals that is of 25 marks and the exam is of 75 marks. Internal includes assignments, tests, and 5 marks are of attendance. The faculty is well educated and the teachers too good. If you are regular in your classes then you will score well as you can ride with the flow of the teacher. The faculty knows how to complete the syllabus within time with all the concepts cleared .some teachers are average but the majority of the faculty is supportive. They advise you in every manner they can. Doubts are also resolved via WhatsApp or call as teachers are always available for doubt sessions. we have some smart classes or labs where teachers teach on whiteboards making the concept easier to understand and retain.

Placement Experience:

The placements are not the best but not the worst either. I got placed in EY which gives me the chance to be a part of the Big 4. The placements are more dependent on individual capabilities rather than the college itself.

As the college was famous for its Commerce faculty so opted for the B.Com pass course. The faculties were experienced and expert in imparting the relevant subject knowledge with relevant examples and deep knowledge.
