Anurag Kuila's Review On International Institute Of Hotel Management - [IIHM], Kolkata | collegedunia.com

My own experience regarding the college

Remarks :

Eligibility of the course - 60% in 12 boards. You can find the application form on the echat website they have their website where you can apply there or you call them for queries related to info about admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen this course because I have an interest in food and hospitality that's why I have chosen this course. Student: faculty ratio is 2:1. Mostly the teacher is highly qualified and have good experience in the industry. Mostly the exams were practical based but you have to be confident enough.

Placement Experience :

They become eligible for the campus in their final year from the start of the 5th sem only. Mostly every property visit our college. Most of the students are getting placed. I have plans to join the industry.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The hike policy is very good they didn't hike the fees frequently and they are also very helpful to the students they give financial support to the student and they also have a scholarship program for the good student based on merit.

Campus Life :

They organize the world's first Culinary competition for 60-plus country participate in it. They provide books every year and they have a good library too with all the books available. We also participate in lots of extracurricular competitions.

Hostel Facilities :

They have a good hostel facility near the campus only hardly a 5 to 10 min walking distance. Meal quality is very good and the menu changes after a few months. The hostel fee is 72000 plus annually with lodging and food included.

Interview Experience :

GD topic is a very simple tale about yourself or the day-to-day general knowledge or current affairs. First, they take an MCQ test then they have an interview round with the senior faculty and they had an interview with the dean of the college.

The average package is 2.5 lpa and the highest package is 5-6 LPA. Students get placements only on behave of their skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The student ratio of my department is obnoxiously high. 70 students in 1 class feel like a cow shed and serious steps must be taken in order to reduce the number of students. The faculty of the department is more or less qualified. Nearly every faculty member has completed their P.hd.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course of Life Science since I was always interested in studying Biology and since after 12 I did not have a very clear idea about each sub-discipline of biology hence I didn't want to choose to do BSc in any particular discipline of biology. This course is very well-balanced and packed. For those who have a goal or interest in R&D and research-oriented life in biology, this course is a golden opportunity. The student-faculty ratio is moderate. Initially, it might seem a bit high but since many students leave for getting into medical college or somewhere else, the ratio lowers and it's pretty okay. The faculty of Life Science dept. is highly qualified and experienced in their own particular sub-disciplines. All our professors have done their Ph.D. from great universities in our country and outside (US, Korea, Japan, etc.) Their teaching method is very research-oriented and proper guidance is provided by our professors at every step of our course. Exams involve mid sem & endsem per sem

College facilities are very good in guidance in their study field. The teacher is very good. All teachers are Ph.D. degree holders. Exam terms and difficulty are moderate. You have to study to pass the exam. The exams here are really good and also the checking here is really strict.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is very good. The faculty members and course curriculum are very good and it is known not only in west Bengal but also in India. There are almost 40 teaching members. They are all well qualified. There are internal exams as well as semester exams. If one attends the classes, it is easy to pass the exam.

Placement Experience:

For some departments, there is a scope of placement. For our department, we were offered to seat in placements. TCS, WIPRO, ICICI, etc companies came and the average package was around 3 lakh per year. But most of the students don't seat for placement because they're willing to go for higher studies. After doing B.Sc one can crack IIT JAM JEST TIFR-like exams to opt for M.Sc. in IITs and in a reputed research organization. Similarly after BA, one can go for MA

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all, I obtained 93 marks in Biology on my board exam. I enjoy studying biology. I'm very curious about plants and nature. So I have decided to pursue a career in Biology. We had a total of four faculties in our Botany department and in our batch, there were around 40 students. So the student-faculty ratio was like for every 10 students we have one faculty. But our professors were great. All of them are highly qualified and completed their PhD. Besides lectures, they conduct a few webinars on our subject topics and they have taken practical classes. We had a semester every 6 months. And the initial first two semesters we had to give two papers each. But we had to choose pass subjects. You can choose zoology, chemistry, physics or Maths as a pass subject. Exams are quite difficult to pass once we move towards the 5th & 6th semesters. So any student must have to study very hard to pass.
