Why are you so pessimistic about Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow?

SS
Souvick Sengupta Posted On : May 11th, 2021
Jaipuria Institute of Management

I have a friend who is a Jaipur Institute of Management, Lucknow alumni. His experience at the institute was not that great. Here are a few things that he found bothersome.

  • Despite having a good faculty base, decent curriculum, and exposure Jaipur Institute of Management still is not counted among the tier 1 or tier 2 B-School. It still lacks reputation among students.
  • There’s a lack of professionalism in the admission process. Admission interviews are done over Skype calls and even via Whatsapp.
  • It is over 25 years old but still failed to create a reputation. They keep on increasing their fees but the placement statistics are somewhat stagnant with an average CTC of around 4-5 LPA.
  • The foundation of Jaipuria is not that strong as other B-Schools like IMS, JIMS, Jaypee, Apeejay, EMPI, etc.

Jaipuria Institute of Management’s brand name won’t do much for your resume as it is not that well-reputed. These are probably some of the reasons why some people are skeptical about Jaipuria.

MBA from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow (2018)

Many of my friends have been students of the institute and thanks to it, I can say that they have succeeded quite well.

  • Jaipuria taught them a never-give-up attitude.
  • Their education gave them an upper hand in the competitive world outside.
  • Jaipuria Lucknow pays equal focus on the fields of entrepreneurship creating not just quality professionals, but also future leaders.
  • In addition to that, of course, the infrastructure, the faculty, the exposure, and the opportunities are all a plus point.

Parameters

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow

Course Fee

9.50 lakh

Placement Percentage

85%

Highest CTC

18 LPA

Average CTC

6.75 LPA

Through the campus drives for placement, many of my friends got into a rather famous telecom giant in the country, where they worked with top executives of the region, before quitting and starting their own business. I don’t know about other entrepreneurs, but I do know that other institutes wouldn’t really spend that much focus to move students into realizing their true place.

Is Jaipuria College good for an MBA?

KA
Keshav Arora Posted On : June 19th, 2021
PGDM International Business, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow (2016)

Jaipuria Institue of Management (JIM) has 4 branches i.e. Lucknow (oldest), Noida, Jaipur, and Indore. My brother has completed his MBA from the Noida branch hence this answer will be based on his experience for JIM, Noida. Take a look at the pros and cons below to get a gist of the institute.

PROS:

  • Legacy: Noida branch isn’t the oldest but it definitely is the fastest growing branch in terms of recognition in the industry and job prospects.
  • Scholarships: If you have got good marks in 10th, 12th, and great score in MAT/CAT you are eligible for a good amount of scholarship. My brother got Rs 1 lakh of scholarship and his MAT percentile was 99.4.
  • Placements: You can grab decent packages there as compared to its counterpart colleges that fall in the same tier i.e. because of the faculty and the placement team which. Also, my brother was once a part of a training placement coordinator. Recently, he came across the news that Amazon recruited from JIM Noida offering 15 LPA which is awesome.
  • Academics: You might find the schedule to be a bit tough and busy because of numerous assignments, presentations, exams. However, you will realize that they help you develop multitasking skills that will come in handy in the future.
  • Extracurricular: There are ample opportunities for extracurricular activities too and you will be able to balance it well with academics.
  • Hostel: Hostels for both girls and boys are well equipped with all basic necessities and leisure activities. Also, you get spacious rooms!

CONS:

  • Mess Food: The quality and taste of meals are not up to the mark. Students also complain of hygiene issues.
  • Hostel Location: If you are a guy, you’ll get the histel which is situated in a rural area about 3km away from the campus.

Overall, the 2-year tenure of my brother at Jaipuria was great and he doesn’t regret it even a bit. Whichever college you go to, make sure you work hard and keep yourself active for an all-around development.

Which is a better college for an MBA: Jaipuria (Lucknow) Or Jamia Millia Islamia (Delhi)?

AS
Arushi Singhania Posted On : May 26th, 2021
MBA Jamia Millia Islamia (Delhi)

Both institutes are on the list of India’s top 75 management colleges and NIRF-2020 ranking by the Ministry of HRD.

Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi is a university that offers several regular or part-time courses for UG, PG, doctoral, technical, non-technical, Diploma, and School programs. While, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow dedicates its curriculum to management education (MBA and PGDM). You should go to an institute that focuses on management studies.

Most essentially, there are several advantages of PGDM over an MBA offered by universities.

The disadvantages of an MBA from a university-

  • Old Curriculum or Syllabus: One of the drawbacks of MBA courses offered by universities is their curriculum. The syllabus supposedly hasn't been updated for years.
  • Theory: Academics for MBA at universities are mostly theory-based which has its limitation.
  • Almost No Practical Exposure: There is a valid absence of practical knowledge, industry exposure, and extracurricular activities. These are important for overall development and growth.
  • Corporate Readiness: Most students do not become corporate ready only because of the lack of essential extra-curricular and industry-oriented practical programs. It results in students facing several problems ahead in the job sector.

While the advantages of PGDM from a well-known institute-

    • Updated Syllabus: Several renowned institutes offer PGDM programs where the curriculum is updated as per need. Jaipuria Institute of Management thoroughly includes any change according to industry requirements. This will make you ready for the industry.
  • Theory And Practical: Students not only learn various aspects theoretically but also learn and experiment with several activities, programs, workshops, and training which provide them great practical exposure.
  • Industry Ready: Students are exposed to several extra-curricular activities, student growth programs, industry training, workshops, internships, and more. Their personality is relevantly developed by the very end of the course and they similarly also become corporate ready.

Thus, you should choose Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow because it focuses mainly on management studies.

Which college should I prefer among Jaipuria Lucknow, NDIM, JIMS, Asia Pacific, IMS Jaypee Business School, IMS Ghaziabad, and ITM Navi Mumbai? I've got a call for GDPI.

Based on your education as an alumnus of JIMS Rohini (PGDM) and IMS (BBA), and your work experience of 7 years in the skill development sector for higher education in India, you are qualified to answer this question.

It is important to note that the colleges you mentioned are considered to be 'Tier 4 & Tier 5' B-Schools, meaning they are below average in comparison to other B-Schools. The median package offered at these schools is typically around 3-4 LPA with faculty that may not be as competent as those at higher-ranked institutions.

When comparing these institutes, you will find that they charge similar academic fees, but the placement opportunities and international placements they advertise may not always be attainable. Investing 7-8 LPA or more in an unstable job that pays less than half of the fees you paid for your education may not be a wise decision. Additionally, obtaining an MBA from these institutions is not only a financial investment but also an investment of your time and efforts.

For a better return on investment, it is recommended to attempt the CAT exam and try to get into the IIMs or FMS, as opposed to institutions like JIMS Rohini, Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida, or Asia Pacific.

In conclusion, it is not recommended to pursue an MBA from these colleges. A better option may be to invest the money into a fixed deposit or start your own business.

What choice should I make, IBS Hyderabad or Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow for an MBA?

YC
Yash Chandra Posted On : March 6th, 2023
Vice President at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur & Indore

IBS is known for calling all candidates to Hyderabad for counseling and then informing them that they have been admitted to a different branch of IBS in another location. This does not provide the candidate with the opportunity to go home and make an informed decision based on research.

If you are admitted to the main IBS Hyderabad campus, it would be a good option.

However, other branches of ICFAI are not highly ranked. In that case, the Jaipuria Institute of Management in Lucknow is a better option. The author personally recommends the Jaipuria Institute of Management due to their overall experience there. The institute places a lot of emphasis on the overall grooming of students, and their placement opportunities are a major factor in the recommendation.

Jaipuria Institute of Management offers a centralized pool campus. Students can go to any of the four-campus for placements. All of the campuses have good placement records and a strong faculty. Although the Noida campus has a location-wise benefit. Being situated near Delhi this campus offers a lot of exposure. Delhi houses many big MNCs and corporate giants, which is also an added advantage for the Noida campus.
