Many seem to believe NTA has ruined JEE Main. There had been controversies regarding the percentile system. Students with higher scores got lower percentile and vice versa. Also, as the examination is done on different shifts and with different sets of questions, students seem to believe there is a huge luck factor at play. The normalization process isn’t full proof. The difficulty level of question papers is subjective and can’t be normalized.

According to the information online, lots of people think that NTA ruined JEE Main. There are some reasons like:
- The level of questions has degraded a lot.
- The distinction between a good and average used to be 20-30 marks owing to the level of the paper. Now it has dropped to 5-7 marks.
- This is why if a good student makes a single mistake, he will go below the average.
- This level of degradation is, especially in Physics.
- The chemistry questions used to be based on the application of concepts and problem-solving skills. But now students are said to memorize every answer and not use their problem-solving skills.
Students have expressed their problems but they are yet to take action on this properly.
