During the time after CAT, you should do the following to convert calls from good B-Schools.

  • Prepare for GD-PI. Take part in interactive workshops and webinars. Take mock interviews.
  • Read newspapers, finance magazines, etc. to stay updated with current affairs.
  • Take other competitive exams. That way you will have backups if your CAT score isn’t good.

Also, do intensive research about the colleges that you are applying to. Talk to the current student and alumni to know about the real scenario on campus.

After taking the CAT, you can keep the flow and appear in other exams like SNAP, IIFT or XAT, and prepare for them. Also keep in mind that you will have to sit for the GD-PI processes of all the colleges you have applied for.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Widen your knowledge base in fields like Economics, History, Politics, General Awareness, etc.
  • Work on your personality, so that you can present yourself better.
  • Determine your strengths and weaknesses then work on them accordingly.
  • Improve your communication and language skills. Make reading newspapers like The Hindu or The Economic Times a regular habit.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and events around the world.
  • Attend mock interviews and group discussions.

Lastly, try to give yourself some space also from the regular preparation process. Read a story book, indulge in some hobbies, etc. to take your mind off the monotony.
