I have a friend who completed his BTech in Metallurgical and Material Engineering from NIT Warangal last year. According to him, the institute and the branch offer a plethora of academic and job opportunities during and after the course.
The department provides ample opportunities to those who are genuinely interested in the branch or the subject. Passionate students receive great help from the faculty but you need to be self-motivated to avail the resources.
Here are a few future prospects for a Metallurgy and Material Engineering student of NIT Warangal
Today, the alumni of this department are pursuing successful careers so I feel in the long run you will be able to benefit from this too. So go for this branch!
There are several factors that you need to consider while making a choice.
NIT Kurukshetra is definitely much more economical than Thapar. There was a time when Thapar was superior to NIT Kurukshetra. But with time, things have changed a lot for both the colleges.
At NIT Kurukshetra, the teaching quality varies with departments. Most professors are very learned and supportive. The professors of ECE department are quite learned. However, they are also very strict with their students. The placements are good at both. You can check the placement scenario at Thapar and NIT Kurukshetra .
NIT Kurukshetra and Thapar are both good colleges and have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Among the three mentioned universities, Jadavpur University is the best to pursue BSc in mathematics Honours without any doubt. The classes are assured regularly and rigorous for those who desire to have a future in mathematics; there should be no doubt in selecting JU.
Comparison: (Winning Institution - Jadavpur University)
Jadavpur University contributes much more than just a degree that gives you quality education, which is not restricted to classroom learning. They make sure the students turn into the person they can be and gives them the confidence that no other college in Kolkata does.
If your rank is more than 1000, you’ll probably not get CS/ EE in any good IIT. But if you still wish for an IIT tag, I would recommend you go for a more relaxed branch. This means, picking the branch with the lowest closing rank. I am saying this because apart from the CS/EE/Mathematics group, all the branches come under the category of “others”. Unfortunately, all these “other” branches are equally placed.
If you are passionate about a field, be it Mechanical or Chemical, definitely go for it. With a passion for your field, you will secure a good core job or can even plan your Phd. in that domain. I would also recommend you check the integrated MSc. courses in Mathematics/Statistics/Physics. They might be a better and more beneficial choice.
As far as NSIT/DCE/NITs are concerned, I would recommend you talk to some seniors from the CSE/EE branch to get a better idea. Otherwise, go for a lower branch in the IITs if you do not get a “top notch” branch at them.
My cousin from Kerala was in a similar dilemma and had to choose between Calicut and AIIMS Jodhpur. Eventually, she went for AIIMS Jodhpur and stated a few reasons that encouraged her to take this decision.
All in all, my cousin was impressed by the hostel facilities of AIIMS Jodhpur and loved the fact that she would be getting a single room with an attached balcony and bathroom!
Both Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara are reputed colleges under Delhi University. According to the reviews online Sri Venkateswara (SVC) is better when it comes to commerce than Ramjas.
SVC has better placements, faculty and overall exposure. Both colleges are very much involved in cultural activities and extracurriculars. If you are willing to opt for a science course then go for Ramjas, Commerce is better in SVC. They both have no strict rules to maintain a 75% attendance, you should just have enough to sit for the internals.
Students who are unable to sit in the internals due to their involvement in clubs and societies have to submit an ECA to their teacher. This is possible in both the colleges.
Ramjas has a better infrastructure than SVC. But all these do not matter much, if you are dedicated to your studies, you can succeed in any college. Choose the college nearer to you, the north or the south campus.
IIIT Guwahati is better than IIIT Sri City. It has an excellent placement record. As per the placement statistics of recent years, the average and highest CTC offered in campus placement are INR 11.59 LPA and INR 32 LPA, respectively. Companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, UpGrad, Toppr Technologies, Tekion, Wipro, etc. are the major recruiters that take part in IIIT Guwahati placements.
The institute has a locational advantage as well. The campus is only 4 km away from Guwahati airport.
If you're considering an MBA program, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Gurgaon are three of the most attractive options based on their placement prospects. Only the Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Dehradun campuses offer an MBA program, while other campuses offer PGPM. If you want a dual degree, you can pursue a PGPM from the campuses offering the program, combined with a distance learning MBA.
The cost of your education is another important factor to consider. The Mumbai and Gurgaon campuses will cost you approximately INR 9 lakhs for PGPM, while the Hyderabad campus charges approximately INR 16 lakhs for an MBA.
In terms of placement statistics, IBS Hyderabad had a 99% placement percentage in 2022 with an average package of INR 8.71 LPA. On the other hand, IBS Mumbai had an average package of INR 7.14 LPA with the highest international and domestic packages of INR 53.45 LPA and INR 15 LPA, respectively. IBS Gurgaon had an average salary of INR 6.81 LPA with the highest international salary of INR 22.18 LPA and the highest domestic salary of INR 11 LPA. The average salary for the top 10% and top 25% was INR 10.06 LPA and INR 8.76 LPA, respectively.
Before making your final decision, it is important to carefully weigh all of these factors. While Hyderabad offers excellent opportunities for development and growth, including a strong club culture, Mumbai and Gurgaon may be better options for you if you are closer to your hometown or primarily concerned about the return on investment.
IIM Sambalpur and BIM Trichy, both these institutes should be approached only when all doors are closed and you are left with zero options. Both colleges have poor placement scenarios and almost no brand name. The fees you will pay are not worth risking your 2 years for. If you are confident that you can get a better percentile next year please sit for CAT again and go for a better college. But if you are not confident about the same, and only have these two options, go for BIM Trichy. The reasons I have chosen BIM Trichy over IIM Sambalpur are -
I know only 2 trivial points are not enough to justify a college worth. What you can further do is talk to the current students or alumni of both colleges. Relying on placement reports is not enough so interacting with its students will give you a clearer picture maybe.
If you are planning on pursuin Computer Science then choosing PICT will be better than VIT. It offers better placement opportunities. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered by PICT is 7.75 LPA and 91 LPA respectively.
Don’t choose VIT, just because it is autonomous. However, it does offer flexible academics and less number of lectures. If you get a backlog, you can clear it within one month.
