Works at Ryerson University

Ryerson is slowly and steadily gaining its reputation and receives an incredible amount of applications every year. It ranks #27 among the global universities in Canada as per US News and #801-1000 in the world by QS World Ranking. The university is known for having the top journalism school and recently added a unique sports media program which is the first of its kind in North America. The sports media program teaches students how to excel in sport management, sports journalism, live production, sports journalism and more.

It won’t be fair to judge it solely through rankings though- it is hard to rank because it has many unique programs. It doesn't compete with sheer talents like U&T and McGill, rather compete in their unique nature and focus of their programs. The university maintains a great reputation with the employers with its career-focused programs.

Their leading programs are in the subjects of Business, Arts, Communication and Design, Community Services, and Engineering. There are also some specialised programs only for international students with the Ryerson ESL Foundation Program.

As for the academic ranking of Ryerson, it depends upon the type of programs you want to enrol in. It is very highly regarded for programs like Nursing, Journalism, and Radio & Television Arts. THE World University Rankings 2021 by the subjects are:

Overall, Ryerson University is a potential choice if you are planning to go into journalism, technology, or MBA it is often considered on par with other universities as it has been ranked among the top 800 universities in almost every subject with an employment rate of 86.7%.

Ph.D. Civil Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal (2020)

Concordia University provides the students with a variety of possible paths to a degree with over 200-degree programs and 7,000 courses that offer a unique and rewarding educational experience. If your IELTS overall score is above 6.5 and also happens to have a 2-year work experience in the same field of your graduation subject, it will be a great addition to your resume. However, work experience matters only if you are applying for a master’s or research programs, what they really consider is your previous academic grades and overall performance. Here are some factors for admission:

  • IELTS 8 is good to get your application accepted in most programs as a minimum is 6.5.
  • Your previous academic record is very important, a minimum GPA of 2.80 is a must.
  • Your 2 years of experience will only matter if you are considering a Ph.D. or Master by research program.
  • SAT score should have at least 980 or an ACT minimum composite score of 18 .

Here’s a Quick Guide for Concordia’s admissions:

Concordia focuses on your undergraduate records hoping your academic scores are better than average, considering your IELTS score of 8 and two years of work experience in the same field you will have no issue in getting an offer letter from Concordia University.

Has anyone here attended Humber College or have some other recommendations for a business undergraduate degree in Canada?

MS
Marcus Samuel Posted On : January 13th, 2021
Studied at International School of Kuala Lumpur

In many ways, Humber College is a great place because of its program intensity and affordability. They also have very helpful and excellent professors so there is a good chance it’ll be a great experience for you. According to Webometrics, it ranked at #71 among Top Canadian Colleges in 2019.

Humber College provides a B.Com in International Business programs with a duration for 4 years and is quite affordable as well costing about $57,988. Humber emphasizes hands-on, career focused learning and provides you with a broad range of credentials. Here are some top advantages of going to this place:

  • They offer incredibly intensive programs. You learn a lot in an incredibly short period of time. If you are willing to do nothing but study then you will get so much out of the program.
  • Humber college is budget friendly and excellent for students looking for affordable degrees.
  • Faculty is really good and they know what they are doing.
  • It also has special Human Resources classes and personnel who help you create the best resume, get interviews and land jobs.

You have to work your way to the top at Humber to excel as a student. Get in touch with the professors and human resources to get the help you need to move ahead. You have to use your resources while you are there. However, you might not find many prospects there and might have to move to a better place to get a good job.

You can try putting in your resumes in different offices and locations so your chances to land a good job increase. Being an immigrant, you’ll also be facing competition from other immigrants who have graduated and are looking for jobs in a job limited economy. However it all depends on your needs and what you want for your career.

A Humber education helps the students to take the classroom learning experience into the real world. These programs mix theory and hands-on learning, giving students the opportunity to gain practical experience in small classes and learn from expert faculty who have extensive industry experience.

While Humber is an incredible college, it does not boast of the same reputation as a traditional four year college. This by no means is a jibe at Humber College. If you don’t have the money for a four-year college, rather than going into debt and putting more burden on yourself, you should apply for Humber and work your way up there.
