Overall, the Acharya Institute of Technology is a potential choice.
NITK Surathkal is a blend of everything, you will get all types of experiences here. The faculty is experienced and dynamic, your peers are also brilliant and competitive. Students take admission at NITK upon being rejected admission by IITs, BHU, and ISM. Local people around the campus are educated, friendly, and ready to help.
Now coming to the main criteria, that is education which is one of the best in India. The Professors and seniors are always helping and encouraging at every step.
These are a few of the aspects that have less to not so good ranking of NITK Surathkal among the top engineering colleges of India.
One of my friends is from the ISB Mohali campus. She is currently on an exchange term at Hyderabad. As I have visited both the campuses personally so have a decent understanding of the pros and cons for both.
Advantages at Hyderabad campus
Advantages at Mohali campus
Compared to Hyderabad, the catering in Mohali is also much better, but this may be a temporary phenomenon.
Obtaining subjects of your preference. During the elective terms, ISB follows an online bidding system for courses. Given the size of the Hyderabad campus, there are limited bid points so students wishing to take all the popular courses is not possible. There is no issue like this in Mohali campus.
Placements: The school tries its hardest to balance both the campuses equally, so no trend in placements is observed. The campus placements for the Mohali students this year was better compared to Hyderabad, but Hyderabad has done better in the past.

GPA per batch is calculated by the school. Therefore, for scoring a high GPA or scoring honours, there is no definitive edge to staying at either campus.
To be honest, IGNOU is an undesirable university in India. Don't believe those who claim that "it's the best open university" and other such nonsense. They don't give a damn about you, your future, or your time. When you go to the regional center, they tell you to go to the IGNOU headquarters. And the office of concern in the headquarter of Ignou will tell you to go to the post office, and the post office will tell you to bring the dispatch number from the headquarters of IGNOU, and they will tell you that the regional center will provide the dispatch number of the book but it would not get into your hands even at the end.
IGNOU is the worst open university; they value the number of students over the quality of education. They do nothing to help students, and IGNOU is just a big scam run by undeserving people and goons. It is strongly advised to avoid IGNOU. AMU and Jamia are far superior for open studies.
My brother was a graduate of the same college and as per his experience, the college has a really good and amicable atmosphere. Infrastructure and lab facility-wise as well it is quite decent. As far as the syllabus and academics are concerned, the college strictly adheres to VTU regulations.
The college is also trying to do its best for placements. But, as a student, you also need to shoulder the responsibility and utilize the opportunities provided to you by the placement cell. You might face some hurdles as the college is affiliated with VTU. Your marks might suffer a little too.
There are quite a few drawbacks to the college. When it comes to placement interviews, you might have to go to BVB College at Pool Campus where there are always a large number of students accumulated. Additionally, most of the students selected are from KLE Tech, not KLEIT. Moreover, many of the companies that visit the college are software companies. So if you are a student from EC, EE, Civil or Mechanical engineering, your chances of being placed in your field are a little less.
A lot of people will also tell you that the degree from VTU holds a lot of importance, but this is not always true.
Overall, the college also has quite a few places to improve upon. They need to provide at least 10 campus placements in the 7th and 8th semesters for each branch. The college has a high package of INR 3.75 lakhs per annum with an average package of INR 1.80 lakhs per annum. Thus, while the college is good faculty-wise, it is not that great placement-wise.
One of my friends studied there and according to him and his classmates it isthe worst institute to pursue a BBA degree.
Below are the points mentioned which will prove why they have such an aversion towards this institute:
The college environment is a mix of decent students and dull students from various schools. MAIT and other below-average colleges conduct the seminars. The college timing is from 8:10-1:30, with a 20 minutes break at 11:00. There are six classes in a day. It feels similar to a school.
The facilities are quite good but you will not find smart graduates here. The classrooms are good with 3-star accommodation. Everything including the notices is sent online.
Overall, it is a good place but most students end up being intelligent and not street smart here.
It is about your lifetime career and not just a degree or an uncertain job profile. So, check every aspect of yourself that you want or what you don't want to do. Then precisely balance the pros and the cons and make the right decision.
First, evaluate yourself and ask yourself what kind of work you prefer or what is your comfort zone (Sales, HR, Banking sector sales, Core finance) and then check which college profile is good for you.
Do not judge any college just by its ranking or advertise over high claims; as presenting everything in an exaggerated manner is very normalizing in India. If possible visit the campus by yourself or make a LinkedIn profile to chat with alumni (not current students) to get a clear picture of after placement job stability.

Do not run behind the annual CTC package otherwise, you would be in unfathomable depth with your bank loan burden and uncertain job profile as CTC may be seen to be high but your in-hand salary may be surprising, so always check the average 'in hand salary' or ask for advance salary'
For the core finance job profile, it is good to have at least 55 to 60 percent in graduation according to MNC criteria, and you should try through higher CAT or MAT for top tier 1 college mainly for this. For core marketing profile also need to work hard for entrance score (at least 97 onwards Mat). Also, it can reduce your education expenses by just 1.6 lakh in top government colleges.
You must review the fee structure (internship-food-stay, stipend, laptop, dress, industrial visit, and so on). If you have an interest to become a commercial bank manager or being an IT manager to control the software workforce team, but you are forced towards banking field sales or IT software corporate sales, check the job profile if it is your cup of tea or not.

If you want helpful and friendly teachers, good facilities and infrastructure, decent placements, personality development then this is the place for you. You will find ITM University among the top institutes in the coming years.
My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.
Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.
Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Placement Reports:
A few major recruiting companies are (in respective branches) as follows.

The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
This is the in-depth scenario of the institute.
