What is the minimum pass marks in IGNOU for a BCom at A F?

NK
Narendra Kumar Posted On : October 19th, 2022
MBA in Master of Business Administration Degrees (IGNOU) (Graduated 2014)

The passing marks in IGNOU for any subject are as follows:

  • Theory - 35 out of 100; 18 out of 50

  • Assignments - more than 50% ( 50 out of 100)

If you get 35 marks in theory out of 100, this means you have passed in that particular subject and don't have to appear for exams again.

But if you score below 50 in assignments, then you have failed and will have to resubmit your assignments.

Is there a semester system in IGNOU for BA courses?

AK
Anil Karki Posted On : October 28th, 2022
MCom in Economics and Accounting from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (Graduated 2015)

No, there is no semester system in IGNOU for BA courses. In IGNOU students are enrolled in two cycles (January and June). The submission of assignments and TEE (Term End Examination) is scheduled once a year.

Although assignments can be submitted only once a year, there is a high chance that if you fail to appear in May or December TEE, you can appear for that particular subject on another cycle.

For example, you enrolled in this course in 2021. If you wish to appear for June 2022 TEE, you are required to submit the assignments by March 30 2022. If you fail to appear or pass the TEE, you can appear for the same exam in December 2022.

How much do I need to score in the CAT/XAT to get into IIM, FMS, or XLRI with the following academics: X: 86%, XII: 73%, B.Tech: 6.89 CGPA?

MS
Muskaan Sharma Posted On : June 2nd, 2021

The first and foremost thing is that you should be thorough with all your concepts and have decent academics. The selection process into XLRI does not focus much on the profile but your score should be decent.

The main thing that plays a vital role while preparing for these exams is quality over quantity. You should set your target of at least 95-96 percentile in XAT to get a call for the interview. The cut-offs for different fields are as follows.

Institute

VARC

DILR

QA

IIM

70%

FMS

XLRI

Group Discussion:

Be a part of group discussion in a positive way. Do not boast your knowledge and try to give chances to others as well. Only put forward the points required. This is the phase where panelists check your ability to react and discuss with others on some topic.

Interview:

After group discussion, you have an interview round where the group of panelists checks your general knowledge. You should be well versed with the three main questions, firstly your strengths and weaknesses, then next why you consider XLRI to be the best among other colleges, and the last why you want to pursue the particular course. During your interview never beat around the bush, if you do not know something, say so. This will create a better impact on the interviewers.

How hard is the IGNOU MA in psychology?

DN
Dhruv Nainwal Posted On : October 31st, 2022
MA in Psychology Indira Gandhi National Open university (IGNOU) (Graduated 2019)

The level of difficulty of a program depends on your passion mostly. If you are passionate about learning then an MA in psychology from IGNOU is not that difficult. You can even work while pursuing a Masters.

Firstly attend all classes and complete all practicals. You will be guided by facilitators throughout. This will help you at the time of examinations. Also, the study material provided by IGNOU is very easy so I don’t think overall it will be a difficult ride.

How do I write answers in RGPV to get marks?

PS
Pradeep Sharma Posted On : October 21st, 2022
Studied at Delhi University

My neighbour is a lecturer. She told me some important points to keep in mind for any subject semester.

  1. Look for the questions that you are best versed in and attempt those first. Go in descending order i.e., from best to worst. This will help maintain the quality of your answers.

  2. Writing in points will give you bonus marks. Black pens are not allowed so don’t use them. Highlight the parts of the answer you wish to be seen by the examiner first.

  3. Draw neat labelled diagrams of appropriate size. Note that the size of the diagram has nothing to do with your marks.

  4. Another way to improve the quality of your answers is to use the required technical words.

  5. Neat handwriting will definitely get you some brownie points. There should be proper spacing between two words.

The trick that will surely get you a few more marks is to highlight important parts while you are writing the answers. You may use the same pen or even pencil. In case you don’t know the answer to a question, focus on the keywords in the question and write your answer based on them itself.

If you want to score good marks in MA economics, take a look at these important sites and books.

Sites:

  1. Economic Discussion- This website has been specially designed for economic students. Here various economic professors and students have shared economics theory in a crisp and easy manner.

  2. Investopedia: This website is suitable for not only economics students but also for finance students. Their USP is their regular update on economic and financial terms in your email.

  3. Your article library: This one is somewhat similar to Economic Discussion.

Books:

  1. Gullybaba: The language used in this book is easy to understand. You can understand the concepts quickly and score good marks.

  2. Neeraj: The language in this book is a bit more complex than Gullybaba. But compared to the IGNOU study materials it’s still easy.

The above sources of study material will help you score better marks for IGNOU MA Economics.

If you have your transfer certificate, you don’t need to submit your original marksheet. But you need to bring your marksheet during counseling for verification. If you don’t have your transfer certificate yet, you will need to submit your original marksheet. You can collect it once you submit your TC.
