If you are very interested in computer science and want to do something innovative in this field, you should attend IIIT-Vadodara. However, it may have its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

But if you are still confused about choosing CSE, you should consider civil engineering as it comes with great career opportunities.

Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering are core branches. It is always better to go for a core branch if you are not particularly interested in a specific branch. The placements for core branches are not ideal, and this is a well-known fact. However, these core branches are very durable, everlasting, and opportunistic fields, and they will continue to thrive as long as industries are thriving in India.

IIIT Vadodara is a new institute and the problem with newer institutes is that they aren't yet established, at least not up to the level of their tag. Some issues may include like small alumni network, faculty issues, fewer opportunities, and a lack of motivation.

According to the recent placement statistics, the highest and average CTC for IIIT Vadodara was 43 LPA and 13 LPA. While for IIIT Hyderabad the highest and average was 24 LPA and 85 LPA.

Considering the above factors I will say go for IIIT H BSD. It is definitely the better alternative.

Both these are well-reputed IIITs under the PPP model. Which institute will be better for you depends on what your expectations are from the degree. Here is some information about IIIT Lucknow. 

Curriculum:

The course curriculum at IIIT Lucknow is designed by keeping in mind the current requirements of the industry. You don’t need to study subjects like Physics or Chemistry here. 

Placements: 

The recent placement statistics of the institute are discussed below. 

Technical Student Life:

• It is undoubtedly one of the best among the new 20 IIITs. It also gives tough competition to NITs and IITs. 
• In ACM ICPC, the institute was ranked 9th. It also qualified for the Asia Finals. 
• The technical club Axios had 3 GSoC selections in their first session. In the 2nd year, it had 2 GSoCers and GSoC mentors. 
• The six technical clubs of IIIT Lucknow are also doing great work. This institute is among the few colleges in India to have a Github Campus Expert, Google DSC, and Microsoft Student Partner.

Cultural Life:

• In terms of student life at the institute, IIIT Lucknow has 7 cultural clubs in the fields of Drama, Dance, Music, Literature, Photography, Fine Arts, and NGO. 
• Crotonia, Zephyr, Utkrisht are some of the events organized by these clubs. 

Events:

They have also organized their maiden technical fest, Equinox, in 2020 along with their maiden Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. They are also planning for their maiden cultural fest, Solstice – IIIT Lucknow.

The only problem IIIT Lucknow had till now was its lack of a permanent campus which has been sorted now as well. So in terms of infrastructure too, it is at par with IIIT Vadodara now. So considering all the criteria, it is safe to say that IIIT Lucknow is a better choice at the moment. Now, the final decision is yours.

My friend studies at IIIT Allahabad. He considers it better than most of the IITs out there. If you are not after the IIT tag, go for IIIT Allahabad. However, both these institutions have an equally great reputation as eminent institutes of India. 

You may want to consider the following points as well, before deciding.

• IIITA is an INI vide IIIT Act 2014 and IIT Gandhinagar is INI vide IIT Act 1961.
• IIITA is well known for its IT program. Its placements have been excellent as well, in terms of consistency. In 2019, the placement rate was 95% and in 2020 it was 96%.
• More than 120 companies have visited IIIT Allahabad over these years.
• The institute also has a group of erudite faculty members which are quite helpful in the provision of support throughout the academic program. Some of my friend's favorites are BSS, Sanyal, Nandi, and others. The director of the department P Nagbhushan has been elemental in bringing in excellent faculty members who have been dedicated to the program, unlike IIT Gandhinagar.
• The coding culture is brilliant here as well, because of which you can get placement offers with good companies.
• The funding by the government is a hefty INR 72 crores for a single year for two branches; which is more than enough for IT.

Moreover, a lot of new departments are being constructed as BH5 7 floors building. The institute will rise in the years to come according to the plan charted by MHRD which includes the addition of startups, MOOCs, and employment of faculty members from countries abroad.

I personally believe that the upcoming future will be a more tech-savvy and digital world. So, going for CSE/IT is an evergreen choice. And is better than metallurgy engineering.

• In my point of view, you should start from the bottom line i.e., start from NITs rather than IIITs.

• Even some NITs in the north-east, like NIT Meghalaya, NIT Silchar, and NIT Agartala are good enough for fields such as CSE/IT.

• If not, then go for the IIIT colleges which are fully government-funded.

If there is no particular interest and just want a decent job in the future then choose CSE at IIIT Vadodara.

However, on the other hand, IIIT Kota is facing too many issues from faculties.

• There are hardly one or two teachers with a research background. As an outcome of this what you will study will not have minute concepts it would be just theoretical knowledge from the books.
• Though being good in coding but that just doesn't justify being in engineering college.
• The college Atmosphere here is not good.

Hence if you are getting IIIT Kota CSE then you might also be getting some other good NITs and IIITs prefer them, else you will regret it if you are willing to achieve something bigger in life.

The choice depends upon your area of interest and the subjects that you enjoy studying. If you are inclined towards hardware and communication, ECE is the perfect fit for you. But if you like dealing with software, go with CSE. Both fields have ample growth opportunities.

Rather than choosing the institute, you need to select the branch of your interest. Following are the points to be considered.

The curriculum of IIIT Guwahati has changed recently. It has adapted many new things which will cultivate skills in the students. Choose the branch that you enjoy. Also, go through the official website of these institutes for in-depth curriculum and campus life.
