Which is the best hostel in NIT Trichy for first year students of this year?

SL
Sayan Lal Posted On : August 31st, 2021
B.Tech Metallurgical and Materials Engineering & Physics, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2016)

According to my friends studying at NIT Trichy, there are a total of five hostels for the first year students at NIT Trichy. They include: Diamond, Agate, Coral, Jade and Opal.

  • Diamond, Agate, Coral and Jade hostels are for boys and Opal hostel is for the girls.
  • As the girls do not have any option in terms of hostel, therefore there will not be any question for the best hostel.
  • Speaking of boy’s hostels, All the first year student hostels are equally good.
  • If there is a parameter of distance, then Coral and Agate hostels are the closest to the Lecture halls where the classes of first year are usually conducted.
  • Diamond hostels can be considered best for the Wifi speed.
  • All the hostels have relatively good internet speed.

It does not matter whichever hostel the candidate chooses as they all are equally good and the candidates will be enjoying their campus life.

What is the average placement of NIT Trichy and all the top MCA colleges?

SB
Shruti Baghel Posted On : December 12th, 2022
Former Assistant Professor at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (2015–2017)

It is not about placement and companies coming to NIT Trichy; it is about students participating in events all year. Without a doubt, Academics, Ambiance, Library, and Good Hostels are the Foundation for them to prepare for their placements and transition from Academia to Industry.

However, participation in sports, events, seminars, conferences, Technical Lectures, Cultures, Tech Meets, Competitions, freelance projects, interdisciplinary research, and a traveling-ready mentality prepares them for placement.

According to some media reports, 90% of UG students have already been placed. For PG courses, the placement rate has so far been 85%. The full set of statistics has yet to be released.

Previously in 2021, the overall placement rate for undergraduate and graduate courses was 86.5% and 83.3%, respectively. According to official reports, 283 companies participated in the 2021 PG course recruitment drive.

What are the packages offered at NIT Trichy branch-wise in an MTech ME?

DP
Devesh Pattanaik Posted On : August 31st, 2021
M.Tech in Industrial Engineering and Management from NIT Trichy (2020)

The packages offered to the students of NIT Trichy who are pursuing M.Tech ME according to what branches they are in are as follows:

  • Thermal Power Engineering: The package can be from INR 7 LPA to as high as INR 16 LPA. Some packages may range from INR 10 to 11 LPA as well.
  • Non-Destructive Testing: You can expect certain placement with packages in the range of INR 3 to 6 LPA. Students in this branch are eligible for most other companies if they have completed B.Tech in mechanical.
  • Energy Engineering: An average placement of INR 7 LPA. Like NDT, you may try your luck in other companies too where B.Tech is required.
  • Safety Engineering: You may be offered an average package of INR 6 LPA. The same can be said about the students who are in the Industrial Metallurgy branch.
  • Welding Engineering: This branch promises certain placement and ranges from INR 4 to 7 LPA.
  • Manufacturing Technology: 80% placement is guaranteed by this branch with packages of around INR 6-7 LPA offered to the students.
  • IEM: The average package will be around INR 7-8 LPA with an 80% guarantee. Recent placements from this branch have not been good lately and if you are from a mechanical background purely then you will most probably not be preferred but companies dealing in analytics and management may have use for your skills.

Finally, most of the students in the civil branch are not seen in high regard for me. The placement percentage is from 50 to 70, unfortunately.

What is the placement scenario in nit warangal, nit trichy and nit surathkal for mtech in electrical branch?

AD
Anik Dhar Posted On : September 4th, 2021
M.Tech from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2018)

My brother did his M.Tech from NITC. Here is his insight into the general placement scenario for MTech at NITs.

Over the years it has been seen that the placements for M.Tech students are comparatively less as most of the companies demand B.Tech graduates as the freshers or even experienced candidates. However, in some cases, M.Tech students are considered, like in research and development-oriented jobs. However, most industries prefer B.Tech over M.Tech.

After pursuing M.Tech your area gets narrower due to which the situation becomes very tricky for both the employers and the candidates applying for. As far as all the colleges are concerned the placement statistics are not so good for M.Tech students.

In the recent placement drives, the average CTC offered at NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal were respectively 21 LPA, 6 LPA, and 11 LPA.

Which is better, thermal in NIT Trichy or design in NIT Warangal as per placements and package?

SS
Shivani Singh Posted On : August 30th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Warangal (2019)

Having known some people who graduated from NIT Trichy and NIT Warangal I can say that there is no demand for either of these two subjects in the industry.

Both the colleges are of similar reputation in the industry, hence choose the one that suits your location. This will ease your transportation.

  • The students of these institutes opt for CSE, learn programming languages from scratch, willing to be computer engineers in the future.
  • They are offered salary packages ranging from 12-24 LPA, depending on their skills.
  • Sometimes it rises up to 50 LPA.
  • These companies not only check academic credentials but also their TopCoder and GitHub profiles.
  • Some even opt to be managers, their jobs demand and value academic credentials.
  • They receive salary packages ranging from 15-18 LPA.

The placements at both colleges are good. Make a calculative decision considering the field you are interested in.

Which is a better choice, NIT Trichy or BITS Pilani?

SP
Shankar Pandey Posted On : March 24th, 2023
B.Tech Production and Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (2020)

When comparing NITT with the BITS Pilani campus, there are several parameters that you can consider to make an informed decision. Here are a few key points to keep in mind:

Quality of peers:

  • At NITT, the general candidates who are admitted tend to be slightly academically superior to those at BITS Pilani. However, due to reservations about NITs, the overall peer group is dampened to some extent. Nonetheless, you will still be sitting with some of the best minds in the country at both institutions.

Placements:

  • The placement opportunities are more or less the same for both colleges. However, BITS Pilani has a slight edge due to its Dual Degree program. Around 40% of the students enrolled in this program get their B.E. in CSE, which leads to better placements in that field.

Academics:

  • BITS Pilani is known for its unique and innovative academic policies. However, this has both pros and cons. You can use the 0% attendance policy to master a skill or build your own startup, or you can waste it on partying and playing games. Professors at both institutions will be equally qualified, but BITS Pilani lets you choose your own professor. Keep in mind, however, that "the more flexible it is, the less stable it gets." You need to choose what will inspire you.

Fees:

  • BITS Pilani has very high fees that increase every year, while NITT has a moderately low fee structure. Both colleges offer different kinds of scholarships, but expenses will likely be higher at BITS.

Alumni Network and Reputation:

  • Both institutions have large alumni networks and are among India's top engineering colleges. To learn more, you can search for information online.

Fests:

  • Both colleges have awesome fests. BITS Pilani has Apogee and Oasis, while NITT has Pragyan and Festember, a fest to remember.

If you have a specific interest and are willing to bear the higher expenses of BITS, then it may be the right choice for you. Otherwise, NITT is a great option. If you don't have a specific interest and want to explore more, join BITS if you are getting circuital branches in both and join NITT if you're getting non-circuital branches in both.

Which is better, IIIT Kancheepuram computer engineering or NIT Trichy EEE?

SG
Sheya Ghose Posted On : September 4th, 2021
M.Tech Product Design & Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacture

Firstly you should decide which stream you want to go with and then look at the colleges for the same.

There are some parameters on which you should especially focus on which include an established brand with great recognition, placement history, and excellent startup culture. According to all these parameters, NIT Trichy is the best place for you. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC offered was 6 LPA.

On the other hand, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers a unique curriculum. It addresses the design and manufacturing issues faced by the industry. At the end of your course, you will be able to converse with the technical experts in your relevant field of study. Although IIITDM Kancheepuram is a new institute and doesn’t have a great placement record yet, it is growing in terms of its reach and brand value.
