RVCE is a good option with respect to the benefits it offers but the fee structure can turn out to be a deterrent. NIT holds a better hand as it provides an affordable fee structure along with good career opportunities in the electrical domain. RV college is a reputed college of engineering that has ranked 7th among the best private engineering colleges in India by The Week in 2020. The infrastructure along with the quality of faculty is extremely well. However, when it comes to choosing a particular course for your future, you should keep some major points in mind.

• In order to pursue B.E in Mechanical engineering, students have to qualify COMEDK UGET and KCET, and to pursue M.TECH, students have to qualify GATE.

Being a resident of Ranchi, some of my friends are currently pursuing a degree from RVCE. This makes me more aware of both the institutes we are comparing BIT Mesra and RVCE. A friend of mine recommended RVCE for CS due to a few specific reasons: 

• The location is the main advantage for RVCE as it is located in Bangalore. Being in the technical hub of the nation provides immense exposure too especially to a CSE student. The city is home to an immense number of start-ups and MNCs where you can join and gain valuable experience.
• When compared to BIT Mesra the RVCE boasts of a quality peer of students from a diverse background. This will help you gain immense exposure and help you improve from an overall personality perspective.
• Comparing the quality of education RVCE takes a lead when compared to BIT Mesra and boasts of excellent facilities.
• Placements-wise too RVCE takes a slight lead compared to BIT Mesra while considering the undergraduate placement opportunities. If you are a student who is dedicated to studies then in RVCE CS you can easily bag great placement offers.

The college has a dedicated cell of placement established to help students gain internship and job opportunities. The placement cell also provides students with training including mock aptitude tests, psychometric tests, personality development, group discussions, etc.

• The highest package offered at the institute is about INR 50 lakhs per annum and an average salary package of INR 7.66 lakhs per annum.

RVCE:

• Placements at RV College of Engineering are quite impressive with about 90% of the students being placed in top firms in different industries.

PES University ranked 6th among the top 50 private State Universities in India in 2019 by Outlook India. It has also ranked 26th for MBA by Times 2020. On the other hand, RVCE has ranked 70th for B. Tech by NIRF in 2020. It can get really difficult at times when it comes to choosing the proper stream for your future alongside the proper college. • Those who aim at enrolling for B. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at PES University have to clear the JEE Main exam. The course fee remains around 10 Lakh.

• The highest salary package stays around 50 LPA and the average salary package remains to be around 7 LPA- 8 LPA.

• More than 92% of students get placed every year and more than fifty reputed companies visit the campus for placements.

Both Nirma University and RVCE Bangalore are one of the prestigious colleges in India for Engineering. NIRF 2020 has ranked Nirma University at 131 for engineering. Whereas, RVCE Bangalore is ranked 70 for engineering by NIRF 2020. One thing which also needs to be taken into consideration is that Nirma University is a private University situated in Ahmedabad while RVCE is a semi-autonomous University.

Admission

Nirma University offers BTech courses in various specializations at the UG level for engineering whereas RVCE offers BE degrees.

• RVCE considers the marks of KCET or CET and the 12th marks for creating the merit list, while Nirma University takes the JEE score into account.

• The minimum requirement is 60% in class 12th with a good score in respective exams, to get admission to both of these colleges.

• The highest CTC offered was of INR 16 LPA, while the average package was 8.2 LPA.

• Many Companies visited the campus with Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Infosys, Tata Motors, Philips, Tata, Amul, Ashok Leyland Daiken, Reliance Industries Limited.

RV College of Engineering:

• There were almost 249 participants last year in the campus placement and they offered 1274 job offers, with top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Amazon, JP Morgan, LinkedIn, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Cleartrip, Intel, etc.

• The highest package offered was 52 lacs per annum while the average package offered was 8.63 lacs per annum.

So after seeing all the statistics and comparison between both of these colleges, it can be concluded that RVCE Bangalore would be a bit better over Nirma University as it is having better placement records, more experienced faculty. However, Nirma University has a more affordable course fee. So, choose according to your convenience.

Without a doubt, RV College is better than IEM College for engineering. It is popular for branches like Computer Science Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The points which make it superior are:

RV College is in the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru. This gives an advantage of more job opportunities and explores the top companies, whereas IEM College is in Kolkata. The place is among the lowest GDP cities in the country. Therefore, it is not good enough for jobs and growth opportunities.

RV College of Engineeringoffers an average package of over 10 LPA for circuital branches. For non-circuital branches, the average CTC offered is around 5 LPA.

A total of 249 companies visited the campus of RV College for placements in 2020 and made 1325. Approximately 200 offers made were for INR 10 LPA+.

Streams:

RV College even offers a larger number of engineering streams as compared to IEM. It gives a lot of choices to students. Among those, CSE/ISE is the most distinguished branch.

The crowd for engineering in RV College is more competent and of better quality than IEM. The reason being that RV College admits quality students as per the COMEDK ranks that are usually within 1000. The CSE branch records even higher competition as the cut-off rank is 500. IEM College accepts students to 3000 rankings in WBJEE.
