Two years ago, one of my friends was in the same situation. He could have taken electrical and sit for every company’s placements. If he chooses mechanical, then only core opportunities are open. Given the circumstances, he chose electrical in the first round of counseling. It was so because he would at least get a chance to sit in almost every business.
Sitting in a good company does not guarantee a good job, and mechanical engineering at PEC is far superior to that of many NITs and even IITs. Trusting his seniors and teachers, he switched to mechanical on the spot round to which he doesn't regret till now.
If you're interested in electrical, go for it. Since my friend had no particular interest in any of these subjects, he preferred mechanical over electrical.
My cousin is from IFIM and it's an excellent Institute, not because of its rank or reputation but several other factors as well.
The overall standard at IFIM is excellent. The crowd, professors, fests, workshops, places to hang out - all combine to give you an explosion of opportunities.
My sister studied at PIBM under IAEER i.e. the Indian Academy of Empowerment and Educational Research. It was affiliated with SSPU (Pune University).
PIBM has helped more than 3000 managers to establish themselves with renowned MNCs working in different domains. Then, PIBM has also facilitated a unique SCPS (Sector Company Product or Services) Training Model in which professors and leading experts from the corporate world will impart training for the efficient application of the concepts of management.
Firstly, as an MBA student, you'll become in the specialization you choose. Secondly, the internships and live projects will give you ample exposure to industry works. Lastly, you'll get a placement. Choose your domain well.
According to my friends at NIT Agartala, it does not provide good placement opportunities and the highest CTC of the college is also decreasing day by day. But the placement at IIIT Allahabad is much better in comparison to NIT Agartala. The ECE placements are not better than CSE but you will get a good job from there.
The placement statistics of IIIT Allahabad and NIT Agartala is as follows:

Also, the infrastructure, faculties, placement, and location are also good at IIIT Allahabad. It is suggested you choose IIIT Allahabad over NIT Agartala.
My friend studied at IIEST Shibpur but it was a long time ago. The quality of pedagogy back then was good, however now one can't say much of it. Also personally, CS does not have the best faculty in AMU.
If you wish to compare the state of teaching in the institutions, just log in to the official website and go through the qualifications of the faculty members. Check both the academic achievements of the faculty in general, as well as that of the departments.
If you live near Shibpur then it'll be easier to commute, however, if you live far away then you can choose AMU. You must note that IIEST Shibpur's IT department might have to shut down and you may regret your decision during placements.
HBTU is the best among all the institutes mentioned above. The university is old and reputed. So, it's better if you choose HBTU CSE over the other options. HBTU placements 2021 witnessed an average CTC of INR 6.46 LPA. A total of 69 students were recruited from the CSE branch. HCL, IBM, Adobe are the major recruiters.
SVC is better for Statistics honors. It ranks among the top colleges at DU. The faculties of the department are great in terms of qualification, experience, and research. Venky follows an updated curriculum. Although KMC is a north campus college, SVC is better in terms of academics, faculties, and exposure.
Before deciding on any institute you should analyze it based on different parameters. Check if the college provides good facilities like hostels equipped with a good and stable internet connection, good food, satisfactory infrastructure, and the most important, a good campus placement drive. Both IIIT Allahabad and NIT Durgapur offer above-average facilities. Here is a brief outline of the institute.

If we look at the placement scenario closely, we can see that IIIT Allahabad has a better placement record and gets more companies. They also provide a higher package to their students. This does not make NIT Durgapur bad. Even NIT Durgapur provides good placements as well as opportunities for higher studies as well.
Both the colleges have a similar kind of course curriculum and nobody can force you to study.
It is not fair to compare the two universities because both of them are unique in themselves and have their charm. So, choose according to your convenience.
Some of my friends studied at MNNIT, so I might be able to answer your question. It is suggested that you choose Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad rather than Civil at NIT Trichy.
Your branch of choice is more important than your college preference. In terms of opportunities, Mechanical Engineering has a slight advantage over Civil Engineering
Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad has a consistent placement record. Mechanical students receive more job offers than Civil Engineering graduates. PSUs often choose Mechanical Engineering graduates.

Finally, everything depends on your interest and choice. So think wisely and then make any decision, because this will be the building blocks of your career.

If you believe that IIM Ranchi can offer similar or better opportunities, then it may be worth considering as an alternative to XLRI.
