Which is better for ChE, IIT BHU or IIT Guwahati?

AG
Aparna Ghosal Posted On : August 14th, 2020
B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (2019)

Both institutions are equally good and reputed so it’s difficult to determine which institute is better. As IIT BHU is an old institution it offers a large alumni base which results in excellent placement. In 2019 a total of 104 students from chemical engineering was employed. The average salary package ranged between 10 LPA to 58.21 LPA. Whereas there was 71% placement for chemical engineering in IIT Guwahati with average placement package 15.5 LPA. IIT BHU is comparatively better in terms of placement.

For research, IIT Guwahati stands out because of its immaculate infrastructure in addition to well-equipped labs, course curriculum, faculties, and methodologies of teaching. In the field of research activities, it is way ahead of IIT-BHU.

Which is better, IMI New Delhi or IIM Udaipur?

VV
Vrushabh Vanakudari Posted On : January 18th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur

Without any second thoughts, I will say IMI New Delhi is better than IIM Udaipur. It has some amazing features that are lacking on the part of IIM Udaipur which is a relatively new IIM. It is yet to enter the race of elite B Schools.

Now, let’s discuss some points that make IMI Delhi The One for you

  • IMI Delhi is ranked among one of the top 20 B schools in the country
  • Its central location is its USP and offers various options to explore in the city
  • The student's committee is always conducting social events and there is a buzz of activities throughout the year
  • The faculty body comprises learner professors and Ph.D. holders who adopt excellent pedagogy to deliver the curriculum.
  • The case study conducted within the classrooms gives the students an insight into the industry and helps them apply theoretical knowledge practically.
  • Other engaging activities and bodies include clubs, committees, and various student-driven societies.

Your time spent at IMI will be something you will carry in your heart for the rest of your life.

Where should I take a computer science course, PEC Chandigarh or NIT Kurukshetra?

VS
Vijain Shinoi Posted On : April 30th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (2021)

One of my friends was in a similar dilemma a few years back. There are several outlooks to consider when deciding which among both of these should be your choice. The points listed below will give you a fair idea to think about it,

  • The NIT tag matters not just inside the boundaries of the nation, yet outside of it. That means, choosing NIT over PEC will give various international recruiters a solid reason for hiring you.
  • Other than that, the recruiters hiring in PEC Chandigarh are nearly the same as that of NIT Kurukshetra.
  • PEC did come close to becoming an IIT but there is no such possibility anymore.
  • NITs have a more focused academic environment.
  • If you want to pursue any coaching for either UPSC or GATE, then you can opt for PEC.
  • My sister was a student of NIT Kurukshetra herself and according to her the studies, curriculum, exposure are better at NIT than most of the newly established IITs.

NIT Kurukshetra does have a slight edge over PEC.

Which is the better choice in terms of placements, NIT Silchar Civil or NIT Sikkim ECE?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : August 31st, 2023
lives in New Delhi

It is difficult for me to say which department is better NIT Silchar Civil and NIT Sikkim ECE as both have their own strengths and weaknesses. I recommend researching both options and considering factors such as program curriculum, faculty, research opportunities, and job prospects before making a decision.

From what I know, ECE is a better branch than Civil in terms of job opportunities in India. However, if you consider the institutes, NIT Silchar is much better than NIT Sikkim. NIT Silchar Civil department has many experienced and qualified faculty. Usually, PSUs recruit the students of this branch, and the core jobs are limited.

I dont think you should choose NIT Sikkim ECE as it's a relatively new institute and hasn't established a strong rapport with the recruiters yet.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your personal preferences and career prospects.

Which college is better for a B.Tech, NMIMS or Symbiosis Pune?

TB
Tathagata Banerjee Posted On : May 21st, 2022
B.Tech from SVKM's NMIMS (2016)

For a B.Tech NMIMS is better than Symbiosis Pune. It offers better placements and exposure. NMIMS placements are pretty good for B.Tech. Students receive an average CTC of around INR 6-7 LPA. NMIMS also offers better exposure to students. Due to the locational advantage, it’s easier for students to get good internships and placement opportunities.
