Which is better for a fresher, MDI Gurgaon HR or IIM Indore Mumbai campus?

VY
Vijay Yadav Posted On : August 27th, 2021
Studied Strategy & Marketing at Indian School of Business (2019)

Both IIM Indore Mumbai Campus and MDI Gurgaon are very good institutes for Management Studies. Because I know some people studying in both these institutes, I can give you a brief overview of the college.

  • Both institutes are on a par with each other on an academic level however there is a slight difference when it comes to job opportunities and such.
  • In IIM Indore, Mumbai Campus every student gets the opportunity to get an MBA without being forced to select between any specializations with the MBA degree.
  • They are free to select any specialization or not.
  • This helps all the students to learn more about their interests.
  • This also allows students to explore different fields and find out what they particularly excel at enabling maximum career satisfaction.
  • Another factor is the alumni network, IIM has definitely a better alumni network than MDI.
  • It becomes easier for better job opportunities through the alumni network which are otherwise harder to get.
Categories MDI Gurgaon IIM Indore (Mumbai)
Course Fee 21.34 lakh 17.35 lakh
Highest CTC 35 LPA 30 LPA
Average CTC 20 LPA 18 LPA
Recruiting Companies Loreal, Nestle, KPMG, HSBC, etc. ICICI Bank, Phillips, Deloitte, Reliance, etc.

MDI Gurgaon is good, especially in HR Management. But students in MDI are somewhat forced to pursue their flagship course, HR. So therefore it is suggested that you go for IIM Indore to receive better opportunities and can select from several options.

Which is a better college for an MBA in Ops/Finance, XIMB BM or IMT Ghaziabad PGDM FT?

DS
Deborah Sam Posted On : February 23rd, 2023
M.B.A. from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (Graduated 2019)

It would be a good idea for you to go to the Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB). Since you have expressed an interest in studying operations/finance, it would be more beneficial for you to attend XIMB rather than the Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad (IMT-G). IMT-G is known to be a great college for marketing, but for other courses, XIMB has the edge. Additionally, major consulting firms, including the "big four," visit the college for placements.

However, it's important to note that the course fees for XIMB may be steeper than other institutions. Overall, XIMB would be a good choice for an overall view.

Studied at MBA from NMIMS (2020)

Choose NMIMS MBA in business analytics if you work in analytics or want to. However, if you're not interested in analytics, you should choose the TAPMI PGDM core program because many people convert to analytics without knowing anything about it, which is a bad sign.

If you're interested in analytics, select NMIMS to develop professionally. If you're unsure about analytics, the TAPMI PGDM core programme will give you several options in different industries.

Is BIT Sindri comparable to NIT Jamshedpur?

SD
Sumona Dasgupta Posted On : March 29th, 2023
Bachelors of technology at National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur

If you're trying to decide between BIT Sindri and NIT Jamshedpur for your engineering education, here are some things to consider:

  • Placements: If you're interested in CSE or ECE, NIT Jamshedpur is the clear winner when it comes to placements. For other branches like mechanical and metallurgy, both colleges have similar placement records. However, NIT Jamshedpur does tend to attract more top-tier companies than BIT Sindri.
  • Quality of education: While the quality of classroom lectures and lab facilities is similar between the two colleges for mechanical engineering, NIT Jamshedpur is generally considered to have a better academic environment overall. The college has experienced faculty members who are committed to providing a high-quality education to their students. In contrast, some BIT Sindri professors may be stuck in old-school teaching methods and not as open to new ideas.
  • Infrastructure: NIT Jamshedpur has better facilities overall than BIT Sindri, including a well-stocked library and modern hostel facilities. Additionally, the campus atmosphere at NIT Jamshedpur is generally more conducive to learning, with students feeling supported and motivated to excel in their studies.
  • Campus life: While BIT Sindri does have a strong alumni network and a reputation for a good ROI, the campus culture can be lacking in certain areas. For example, there are limitations on female students' movements due to security concerns, and college clubs and events may not be as active as in other institutions. In contrast, NIT Jamshedpur has a vibrant campus life, with a range of clubs and activities for students to get involved in.
  • Training and placement: While both colleges have training and placement cells to help students secure job opportunities, NIT Jamshedpur's cell is generally considered to be more effective in securing placements with top companies. However, both colleges face budget constraints that can limit the resources available to the placement cell.
  • Alumni network: While BIT Sindri has a strong alumni network that can be helpful for job opportunities and networking, NIT Jamshedpur's alumni network is also quite strong and active.

Ultimately, if you missed out on the opportunity to attend NIT Jamshedpur, BIT Sindri is still a solid option with a good ROI. However, NIT Jamshedpur is generally considered to be the superior choice in terms of placements, infrastructure, and campus culture.

Which is better, the NIT, Goa, or the NIT, Sikkim?

PG
Prabhas Gupta Posted On : July 9th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology Sikkim

Both NIT Goa and NIT Sikkim are decent options considering the atmosphere surrounding the campus. But, NIT Sikkim has some disadvantages. The points below state some of the advantages and disadvantages of both the institutes.

  • The campus of NIT Sikkim is surrounded by lush greenery, having a pollution-free atmosphere. If you want to enjoy the calmness of nature and stay away from noise and crowds, NIT Sikkim is an excellent place.
  • The mess food is a disadvantage of NIT Sikkim.
  • Sikkim is cold throughout the year. So, you will need to use blankets and heaters all year long.
  • Communication to and from the campus of NIT Sikkim is a problem. There are frequent jams and landslides. So, going home for a vacation often becomes a problem.
  • NIT Goa gives a much better lifestyle and opportunities in campus placement, which are the two among the most important parameters in choosing an institute. These aspects make NIT Goa much ahead of NIT Sikkim.

Here is an overview of the recent placement statistics for the institutes.
