What sort of a GRE score would warrant a call-up from IIM Ahmedabad?

DM
Deepak Mehta Posted On : December 12th, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

Firstly, GRE scores are not accepted for the PGP MBA program. Only CAT/GMAT scores are accepted. To apply through the GMAT route you need sufficient work experience in a foreign country.

For the FPM program, like any other doctoral program, the quality of the application matters the most and there is no cut-off for the GRE scores. Other factors that are actually considered are

  • Profile

  • Past research

  • Publications

There is no specific GRE score that would guarantee a call-up from IIM Ahmedabad.

What is the pass mark on TANCET to get into Anna University?

PM
Piyush Marwah Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
Studied at College of Engineering Guindy, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2018)

There is no passing grade. It is determined by the cut-off point. The TANCET cut-off is determined by the following factors:

  • Availability of seats

  • Total number of applicants for TANCET

  • Total number of test participants

  • The exam's level of difficulty.

TANCET requires a score of 60-65 to achieve the 99%ile. The TANCET percentile score is calculated using the following formula:

Percentile Score on the TANCET: (Y/N)*100

In this case, Y represents the total number of test takers with a lower score. Whereas N denotes the total number of candidates who took the TANCET exam. A candidate who received a 97 percent score performed better than 97 percent of TANCET 2023 test-takers.

Do all the CAT 100 percentilers get into IIM Ahmedabad?

PD
Patrick Dsouza Posted On : November 21st, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

No, it’s not necessary that all 100 percentiles get into IIM Ahmedabad. Either they don’t get selected or they have some other college at the top of their preference list.

The CAT 100 percentilers opt for either of the following options:

  • Many 100 percentilers with work experience tend to apply for GMAT if they want to pursue their career abroad.

  • Some with even 100 percentile don’t get into B-Schools at all. They either pursue teaching in that field. Nowadays MBA preparation websites and CAT coaching Institutes are common.

  • Not all 100 percentilers are lucky enough to make it into IIMA. They get rejected in the interview round.

  • It’s not necessary that every 100 percentiler has IIMA at the top of their preference list. Some might prefer IIMB because of location or FMS because of the fee structure.

We can say that the chances of 100 percentilers getting into IIMA are high but not assured.

What rank in DU LLB entrance exam will make me eligible for hostel?

RC
Rajni Chauhan Posted On : October 12th, 2022
Studied Bachelor of Law (LL.B) & Master of Laws at University of Delhi

A rank in the top 50 is secured for general category students, but you should try even if you are in the top 100 or 200. Women from the general category may apply even if they are not in the top 500.

Even if one's name is among the top 500 or 1000 on the general merit list, one should apply for the SC/ST/PH categories. You never know what your luck will be.

In addition, hostel seats are available in the second and third years of LLB based on your first or second year grades. So, if you don't get a hostel seat in first year LLB, you can work hard to get good grades (at least 60% in our time) and apply in second year.

Mansarowar, Jubilee Hall, Gwyer Hall, PG Men's, DS Kothari, and ISH are the six men's hostels, and UHW or PGW and Meghdoot are the two women's hostels. Later, a few more hostels for women candidates from the north-east and SC/ST categories will be added. It is critical to be vigilant and apply to as many hostels as possible.

A Law Hall, an exclusive hostel for the Law Faculty, could play a significant role in significantly improving legal education at DU. A Law Hall for men and another for women can be of great assistance to meritorious students from across India who want to join the law faculty but are concerned about finding housing in Delhi.

You should get a seat at Vignan University Guntur with 70 percent in JEE Main. Your branch will depend on the cutoff trend and the competition. But the university has a lot of seats for branches like Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. So, you have a good chance of securing admission at VLITS.

What is the MBA in Canada eligibility for Indians?

HL
Himanshu Lahiri Posted On : February 10th, 2022
MS Mechanical Engineering, Northwestern University (2022)

Most universities or colleges of Canada have their own set of eligibility criteria for MBA admission. But the common prerequisite for international students is as follows.

  • You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Usually, most universities accept a 4-year long undergraduate course. But there are some institutes that accept 3-year long bachelor's degrees too.
  • Proof of relevant work experience. Since MBA is a professional degree, most institutes prefer students with 12 months of work experience. Though having work experience isn’t mandatory.
  • For most of the top business schools in Canada, a good GMAT score is mandatory.
  • As an international student applying for an MBA in Canada, you will also require to have a decent language proficiency score such as IELTS, TOFEL, PTE.
